Remarks

Admission is given based on your 12th grade's marks. The competition for this course is pretty high. A very good college that makes you ready to pursue your PG or to get into the industry. Bsc Biochemistry is a very unique and interesting course. If one likes Biology and Chemistry, then this one is for you. Ethiraj College for Women is one of the finest Arts & Science colleges in Tamilnadu.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I was interested in Life Sciences. This course provides a good foundation for you to choose your next PG. Options are plenty. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:25. All the professors of the department are well qualified Doctorates. They have immense knowledge about the subject. The term exams take place every 3 months. Internal exams occur almost every month during the academic year.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester, students are eligible to sit for placements. Many companies such as TCS, Cognizant, Delloite, and smaller firms visit the campus. Most students also look to join for their Masters

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is not very high. It is about 32k per semester which is considered to be quite fair. Various scholarships based on socio-economic status and caste are also available which waives almost 50% of the fee.

Campus Life

Many student clubs ranging from Debate, Dance, Singing, etc are available. The professors are very encouraging here. They push us to participate in extra-curricular activities. Many other student organizations are also available such as the Red Ribbon Club, Rotaract, Enactus, Consumer club which all carry credits. Our Annual Intercollegiate event is called Srishti which takes place in a grandiose manner. The intercollegiate events are Aarambh and Maithri.

Good Learning Environment But need more Facilities

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose bsc computer science because I'm interested in IT jobs and want become a developer. The syllabus is useful for real world learning and it covers important basics. i found subjects like c programming very helpful for understanding core concepts. the curriculum is decent but it needs more practical sessions and better lab facilities. the software and systems in the lab should also be updated. we follow a semester system, and the exams test both theory and practical knowledge. overall the course is good, but more hands on training would make it even better.
