Remarks

In my opinion my college is absolutely good and would rate my college as one of the best among the colleges in Madurai and especially in my stream of degree.

Entrance Preview

I took up the entrance exam conducted by the college (Autonomous, now deemed university). Got my name in the first list. I preferred this college because it is one of the oldest colleges in Madurai and its Engineering College has a better track record in education/ reputation and placement.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since this college was an autonomous college, the course curriculum was revised every 2-3 yrs, and if required updated before. The curriculum was up to date with the latest technology. They consult industrial experts and define the course curriculum and relevant technological upgradation is also done, i.e., upgrading the instruments.

Internships Opportunities

No our college doesn't provide internship, but of-course they assist us in getting a job thru' their contacts. They even try and arrange campus interviews.

Placement Experience

3

The college, doesn't have a placement cell as their main engineering branch, since the college is situated in a place where there is no much industries related to biotech or pharmacy, not much industries visited us. Only some food industry and some dairy industries are there, they visit our college if they have vacancies.

College Events

4

Our college use to celebrate as any other college does, Annual Day, Sports Day and some meetings to honor outstanding students who achieve academically or in sports or any other extracurricular activities. Occasionally our department organize inter college seminars.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In 2003-2005, i paid fifteen thousand rupees (15,000/-) per semester. since the course run as a self financing course, it was this high, but when compared to other colleges it is very much reasonable. As every college does they take the examination fees seperately.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since our course was a self financing course we where not eligible to apply for scholarships, but ofcourse the students studying in regular courses where eligible for scholarships offered by the state govt.

Campus Life

4

Our class strength was fourteen students consisting of seven boys and seven girls. Since it was a self financing course, we had very good infrastructure, like Air conditioned classrooms, well equipped lab. Regarding the ethnicity, we had no issues as the college doesn't give importance to religion or caste.

Alumni/Alumna

Almost all the students in my batch, my seniors are placed well and are in contact with each other in social sites.

Exam Structure

The exams in the college was planned according to the university norms, but the schedule was not hectic at all. The lab and theory papers were done separately with enough time gap between the two. And the exam pattern was also easy to take in the requisite time.

Faculty

4.5

Our department was run along with zoology, The HOD and the staffs were so friendly and for Microbiology we had 6 staffs each handling papers of their expertise. They were very much qualified and experienced. Although they where post graduates, but vast experience in teaching and now a few of them done their PhD.

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.
