Remarks
I applied for a total of 4 colleges in Pune for BBA (CA), BMCC, Modern College, Garware College, and MIT. All four of these had entrance tests to get into the course. The syllabus for Garware's entrance test was Basic aptitude, Maths, and English. I cleared the test easily. After declaring the result they put up a merit list and started admission. The criteria for admission was minimum of 50% Marks in 10+2 or Diploma (45% for SC/ST). I did not avail any quota as I'm from the general category. The admission process was very smooth, We had the option to pay fees by DD, NEFT, RTGS, etc. We got ID cards on the same day. The reason I chose Garware to pursue my degree is, It is a reputed institute, it was near my house, I had heard great things from alumni about the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as it includes both IT and management topics. Total faculties are about 15. Most faculty members are well versed in their teaching topic. Teaching methods were included ppts, lab practicals. The exams were timely and you could pass them if you had studied.
Internships Opportunities
Very few internship opportunities due to COVID. Some local companies offered internships to students in management roles. They were unpaid. College did provide some assistance to get internships to the college students but it wasn't enough.
Placement Experience
From last semester students get eligible to get placed. This year due to COVID only 3-4 companies came, the notable of them was Janta bank. Very few students got selected. My plan after the degree is to do a master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees get hiked by 1-2k per year, but their no fixed hike policy as such. You can get books from the library. You can a government scholarship if you are eligible but it's a long process. You can apply for SPPU' learn and earn scheme too.
Campus Life
Many fests are organized during the year including Hackathon, a fest where you can your own shop and sell various things, these are usually conducted in October or December. Every classroom has a projector. You can get selected in college's football, kabaddi team bypassing the selections. The college has an NCC unit of 2 Mah battalions. If you are interested in Army, you can enroll there.
