Remarks

I have applied for almost 8 colleges including 4 government universities and those are Andhra University, SV University, Acharya Nagarjuna University, JNTU Kakinada, Bapatla Engineering College, RVR&JC college, VVIT, and VR Siddartha college. Following the above order,i am not able to get into government colleges due to caste reservations as only a few seats are available in those colleges. Apart from that i intentionally opted out of RVR&JC due to the high fee compared to Bapatla Engineering College (BEC). As i belong to the general category, any special quota for admission has not helped me. To get into such a course, one should have to qualify a government-conducted exam called EAMCET. Through this exam, a person is selected on the basis of rank obtained. One can select any college from colleges in A.P through web options and the selection criteria is purely under the control of the convenor of EAMCET. There is no such thing called min or max-age. Document verification is done on counseling day by officers.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My interest in designing and innovation made me select mechanical engineering. One thing that separates our department from others is the Labs which are par better than many colleges in the state. Since it was established in 1981, it has had standard and fixed labs. The second best thing that stands out is the faculty who are rich inexperienced. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:9, to be precise 180 students with 20 staff. All the professors are ph.D's with assistant professors from nits. They mostly prefer blackboard teaching while projectors are preferred by some faculty who deal with theory subjects. There are two mid-term exams conducted with a gap of 2 months from starting of the semester and they end with the semester end exams. Since it is an Autonomous college, the pass percentage is quite good, approximately 65-70%.And two assignments are conducted in between the mid-term exams.

Placement Experience

1

As i mentioned earlier placements were the least rated thing in our college. From the 7th semester, the students are eligible for the placements. Nothing no big names to say but some of them are Amararaja Batteries, Magna Automotives Pvt Ltd and Hero motocorp, etc., Only 30-35% percent of students have offered campus placements. The highest package offered was 7 lakhs and at least 1.5 lakh with an average package of 1.8 lakhs per annum. Mostly selected roles are Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET). Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics Engineering departments have better placements with almost 60% while mechanical engineering has the least with 20-25%. My plan is to get into a better job in a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual tuition fees of the college is Rs.75000/- only. Based on the facilities provided by the college, it is somewhat higher. Something around 50000- 65000 would be great. Caste reservations play a major role in fee particulars. Sc/ST candidates get full reimbursement from the government and BC students to get 35000. From the past fifteen years, the number of fees to be paid hasn't increased. Our college doesn't provide any scholarships but some of the faculty with their own interest provides financial help to students. Also, Alumni of our college provide financial assistance for selected students. Talking about the placements i would rate this as the last thing in the college compared to other facilities. The majority of the students did not get jobs. The highest package offered was 7 lakhs and at least 1.5 lakhs with an average CTC of 1.8 lakhs. Comparing with other departments our department is the lowest in terms of placements with only 20% of students got selected during campus interviews.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is something that will move on happily with no particular restrictions for students inside the campus. Every cultural fest is conducted during the month of February with the name BECTAGON. Also we celebrate Pongal grandly. Speaking about the library it has almost 70000 volumes with different authors and editions of textbooks. One can borrow any book with the token(2) they provide us. The time for returning is 1 week. There is a better college ground for sports activities where cricket, volleyball, football, and basketball have been played. Some good support for sports we get from the college with PET sir. Also, there is a special place for indoor games like chess, table tennis equipped with a gym. The most thing i like about our college is the student clubs which are maintained by the students with decent support from the faculty. Those are CCA for cultural activities, SAC for social service, and AWAAZ for learning and speaking English.

Yes the placements are good in my college but for the students who study well , the collge almost have 5k students strength in final years it not possible to give all the students high paying jobs since the companies who pay higher recruit less students , But most of students are being placed but for low packages In the end of 3rd year the placements are started and most important thing is students are categorised by their CGPA so maintaining 9+ Cgpa is very important for high paying jobs There are almost more than 100 companies which visit our college and i dont the exact numbers , The highest package obtained by our college student is 80 lpa

Placement Experience:

You can't expect any on-campus jobs here, the placement levels are very low. Only start-ups and local companies visit here however you can try different off-campus jobs. The highest off-campus package is 12 LPA and here the percentage of placements is too low as it is a tier 3 college. So I recommend if you choose your career or expect a high package, then this will be not for you.
