Remarks
Great experience i have had here for 2 years. Absolutely memorable, I feel like a kid thinking about my college. But I wish to thank everyone for being there for me in hard times and during the times i was missing home.
Entrance Preview
I wrote the MAT. Got 621, but was expecting higher. I wanted to join other b schools, but this came by a referral. When I heard of it I thought I should visit the place first before deciding. Destiny took its turn and I landed here.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is very tight honestly. At first i found it hard since I felt there was too much academics. But slowing as the semesters started to go on, I felt at ease and got used to the schedules. Curriculum is according to BU, but they have a lot of extra added activities.
Internships Opportunities
Yes there were several internships provided. Stipend varies from company to company. Anywhere from 7000 to 15000 was the nominal amount for internship stipend. Sometimes even 20000. NIAS had approached for a project where they took student from ABBS. Stipend was around 7000 i think.
Placement Experience
Amazing opportunities provided you attend the pre placement activities, since they help in preparing for interviews. I would request everyone to take part. Amazon, Infosys, ICICI, KPMG, Nestle, etc are common companies that visit often exclusively for ABBS.
College Events
Bizomania is the famous one on campus. Christmas celebrations are fun where we get to see our teachers breaks leg. Armageddon is another series for people who like the outdoors, its fun. Annual day celebrations is also very exciting. They have usual events like music talent shows, fashion show etc. It is really nice sometimes to get away from the hectic schedule with such shows.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I would say it is expensive. But it is VALUE for money. One should join only if he/she is serious about their careers. Most of the top b schools have the fees from 7 to 12L if I'm not wrong. The rest with lower fees are not great apart from having an MBA degree. PGDM is something I would recommend people to join, if i had a choice today. It is upcoming and all IIMs are PGDM. Also they structure it well, since I had a friend who took it and got a better job than me.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes the college helps with loan facility and scholarships. They have certain presidents scholarships, but there are many for merit students. I hadn't availed any at the time of joining, since my percentage was only 66. But if you are a good student, try your luck you may get a fee waiver.
Campus Life
17 different nationalities are there on campus. Multicultural in a way. Many of the PG students are from different parts of India. There are more boys, like the ratios is around 60:40. You will meet people from all walks of life. Most of the people are of different backgrounds so it brings new perspectives.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel food is average, nothing great. Same with the facilities. You get what you pay for I guess, but with friends u forget all these things. I hope they get a hostel on campus, IT would benefit students, especially the girls. What I know of is that surrounding rents are cheap if you share with many students.
Alumni/Alumna
They just have one network and they usually invite us for events which is always nice. Last time didn't make it because of my busy schedule at work. It is hard to get leaves. But the annual alumni meet is always fun since I get to meet old friends and teachers.
Exam Structure
For MBA we had to obviously just follow Bangalore University timetable. Luckily for PGDM they are autonomous so they could plan in their own way. But for us it was hectic. I wish they reduce the workload in academics. But again I wouldn't be where I am today without the rigor. This is only for serious students, wouldn't recommend if you are casual.
Faculty
Faculty are really good. They have a mic of young and experienced professors. Some are form industry and some are pure academic animals, both have their positives and drawbacks. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes by Chauhan sir (IIM-B) and Vishwanathan sir. They are very relaxed professors.
