I took UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Entrance Examination) for admission in this college. I scored around 20000 rank in UPSEE examination.Usually the computer science seats get filled up first then rest of the branches. I selected Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I heard from various sources including friends, relatives and colleague that this college is very good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that I choose( Electrical and Electronics Engineering) is fairly good for research purpose. The syllabus prescribed to us is in accordance with AKTU(Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University). The research topics that you can particularly focus includes Power system, Power electronics control, Automation, Switch gear protection, etc.
Internships Opportunities
Before admission I was told that Training and Internship programmes are organised by the college but I found it pretty outrageous that they were no Internship or assistance available in college for it in my field.
Placement Experience
The placement of Computer science and Information Technology are somewhat fair but the placement of core branches like Electrical and Mechanical is very poor to such an extent that there are no core companies showing up even for placements. And the one who somehow got placed from core field gets a job of CS/IT Engineer.
College Events
There are various Intra and Inter college sport, cultural, technical fests organised by our college once every year around the month of March-April. Participants from various nearby college come to participate and show up their talents. Budgets are sanctioned for different fests accordingly and expenses are monitored by faculty members. Apart from it various seminars, Blood donation camp, etc are also organised.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of college can be classified into two sub categories Hostel and College fee. Course fee varies from INR 1,00,000 to INR 1,20,000 and a Hostel Fee varies from INR 55,000 to INR 65,000. Overall fee is about INR 1,60,000 to INR 1,90,000. On college level there is no scholarship. Well the state government offers a scholarship for the students who's parents annual income is under INR 2 lacs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college do not provide and scholarship or loan. But the the state government offers a scholarship for the students who's parents annual income is less than INR 2 lac per annum.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is around 40:10(Boys:Girls). The fresher and farewell parties are organised every year. There are various societies associated with different branches Association of Electronics & Communication Engineers is society of ECE students, Electrazz Club has concerns related to electronics and electrical engineering.
Hostel Facilities
Leading a life in any college varies person to person. Although the life is enjoyable ,even luxurious and good.Mess food below average, but its good comparable to many other colleges and cheap to. They provide you food 4 times a day with variations each day.Grading it 3/5. Hostels are good,Some of them are new and very well maintained while few are so.
Exam Structure
The main exam that we have is End Semester Examination (External Examinations) every 6 months which is conducted by AKTU. Apart from these main exams by university we have internal examination organised by college in form of two class tests and one pre university tests for every semester.
Admission
RKGIT is a private college you can get admission through UPSEE counselling or from management quota. Inspite of having fair rank in Entrance Exam I choose management quota. Around 40% of the students here are from management quota. You can contact college administration and ask for your preference.
Faculty
The general subjects to common to all engineering branches that are taught to us in First year were taught very professionally by the teachers. The concepts were cleared in very detail and to the point manner through various practical examples and physical significance. As I qualified into second year the quality there was a sharp decrease in quality of education.
