Remarks

The admission process is direct and simple- only through TNEA counselling. considering the highest cutoffs in the state. The marks in consideration are our board exam marks of the 10th and 12th classes. (includes 11th std marks if TN state board). I have not availed any quota for admissions though there are various quotas for economically weaker and backward classes apart from sports and physically challenged quotas. Various govt and private scholarships (including founder's scholarship) can be availed based on our marks and TNEA rank. The admission process is completely online- first registration, followed by regular updates for entering our academic details, sports achievements( for sports quota), then medical certificates and others. On counselling day, we shd type the college code and our course by order of preference and a couple of days later, we are allocated courses based on computer algorithms.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose electronics and communication to learn about how electronic gadgets, satellites and television work. The scope of electronics is endless and it is ubiquitous. Also, MIT is the alma mater of many famous personalities like Kalam Sir, Sivan Sir, etc.. whose contributions to our country's space program inspired me. Most of the faculty here from an undergraduate level to doctoral level has multiple patents to their name or are in the process of acquiring a doctorate. Their guidance and explanation of concepts are great and they also give references to several real life examples along with several assignments to enable us to understand them best. I found the first semester to be relatively easy but the second semester subjects are quite tough as it is the foundation for the future years. But the best fact is that the respective faculty make great efforts to make us understand the concept well.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. They are trained by the placement cell in various skills like coding, aptitude, soft skills and technical interview. The placement is great with over 170 companies like Infosys, Tata, L&T, Philips, Accenture, Siemens, Bajaj recruiting students from all departments. The average core package is 6LPA and for software companies, it is even greater. More than 480 students got job offers, with numbers increasing every year. More than 75% of students are recruited through campus placements. I would like to work for a few years and do my masters in my college itself in fields like wireless communication and embedded systems.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government college, the cost for studying is quite less- it is roughly Rs. 52000 for the entire year! without hostel fee(incl. different hostel for NRIs) including study tour and extracurricular activities. Apart from the various central and state government scholarships, there are many other scholarships from private businesses and also the founder scholarship. The eligibility criteria depend on our marks, TNEA rank and economic condition. There are various tie ups and MOUs with IITs, other institutions, various companies and online course platforms that offer a discount on the courses and offer seminars and internship opportunities for everyone. The campus placements are great and various core and software companies like Siemens, Larsen and Toubro alike recruit in large numbers.

Campus Life

4

The campus life would be exciting with various clubs and intra college fests like Enigma, Rotofest, Inksanity , Athenaeum and intercollege fests like Innovate, Dexbot, Renaissance happening round the year. Apart from the common library where thousands of books and international journals and research papers are kept, there are also department libraries in each block where we can freely borrow the books and return them within 2 weeks. For the main library, only 6 books can be borrowed each semester. There are various clubs like MITRA for robotics, Photography club, electoral literacy club, MIT QUILL( for releasing magazine and articles), the computer society which also contributes to the official website, personality development, NSS, YRC and NSO(for sports). Various sports like Basketball, Tennikoit, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, weightlifting and artificial mountain climbing are available apart from the regular ones. Also, there's free wifi connectivity 24/7 inside the campus.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
