Remarks

Having applied only to Thakur College, the admission process involved a lot of form filling and document-submitting but the formalities didn't take too long to get done with. The forms are easy to understand and fill up although there's not much support from the admin offices. The minimum criteria for getting into the BMM undergraduate program is 60% in your 12th Board exams. There's no kind of quota for getting into BMM as it comes under a professional degree unlike General ones like BSc, BCom, or BA.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I turned to BMM to kickstart my career in the creative field with aspirations to become a professional in advertisement and Branding. At Thakur College, the class of BMM is a booming place and the degree being an artistic one is really treated the same way. The Professors are good at what they do and the lectures feel more like a round table discussion rather than a theory-based, note-taking class. Even though the pandemic and dilemma of online lectures, the professors did a good job. The term exams are always anticipated and can't be missed. In fact, you get ample days off to prepare for the same. They are quite easy if you realize the fact that BMM is all about being creative and spontaneous. There is no right answer and no wrong answer.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are none, you will just keep getting contact details but that's it. But because of strict attendance policies, you will have a hard time juggling work and college. There are good client servicing internship roles up for grabs if you pursue BMM, and they offer decent stipends between the range of 7000 to 15000 per month.

Placement Experience

3

Thakur College is a recognized institute and has also gotten the "best college" award in 2019. Apart from the professors sharing their contacts of Industry biggies with the students, there is also a placement cell. Apparently, there is a strict attendance policy, so you will have a hard time if you want to work while in college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for BMM at 24000-25000 per semester are justified given that there is good study happening and the infrastructure is modest. Apart from that, Thakur college promises a wholesome college life with various events that provide you with all-around development and a quality friend circle.

Campus Life

4

The Annual fest Taarangan and BMM's own short film festival, Cortokino is growing extremely fast and is a boon to students. They are conducted in December and January respectively. The festivals still lack footfall but are recognizable and make a shining addition to your CVs. The classrooms are modest and have to be air-conditioned, Phew! There is ample opportunity for sports but you need to keep your eyes and ears open, otherwise, the selections will go by without you realizing it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
