Very few companies offered internship

The college that I have applied to is Shillong Polytechnic. Admission depends on the percentage you get from your previous board exam and after being selected for the first list you have to do the interview and then they will select for the final list. The minimum percentage is 70% and the quota is also available only for several seats and the age should not be more than 21 years.

The course is three years and the faculty members of the institute are very helpful and some just stick to what they have to teach. The reason I chose this course is that I didn't get the course that I want since I didn't get enough scores in my board exams so this is my second option. The student ratio is 30:6 it depends on the semester you're in. Most of the teachers have passed Mtech some PhD and very few BTech. Every term we have an exam with an internal test in each term that is 2 main exams in one year and several tests which may be 5-8 depends on the time left before exams. Exams are difficult especially if you don't read regularly.

So after finishing the course, the school usually would send us for training which will be held in Guwahati and also to neepco. So it did well they will also offer a permanent post. This depends on the student whether they want to go or not, the most student who goes for the internship are those who don't want to go for further studies.

The fees itself it's very low since it is a government institution which is 3200 per year and the hostel fee is 1800. The scholarship that we got is more than the fees of 4000 which is given by the government. The school itself doesn't provide any financial support.

Life on the campus is very enjoyable. We usually have activities once a year which is in September. Books and journals are available in the library. We have table tennis, badminton, carrom board, basketball and football.
