Remarks

I applied in another college of ipu but after VIPS the only good and hygienic infrastructure were in CPJ. The staff was very friendly and also ready to help each and every time. I did not avail any quota, I am a general category student. Admission criteria were was not that very tough, i filled up for spot counseling and when they assigned me colleges I visit them and took admission in this one. I did Ba.llb from CPJ School of Law. The teachers were very helpful and the timing and schedule was very flexible. Due to my IP rank, I got admission. It has one of the great education systems. On Counseling day Ms. Geeta ma'am (economics faculty) in cpj attended me and made me learn all the procedures and she has a same positive attitude when she makes me get the admission and when she taught me economics in 3rd semester.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I wanted to do LLB, so I opted for this course. The faculty was qualified and have good teaching skills. They were always there to help students in every way possible. The best thing about them was that they teach well as well as they were friendly. When first time I took part in a research competition outside the college through law octopus, one of the teachers really helped me through it. It had 1 internal exam, 1 external exam every semester, before taking assignments they made us give presentations about it which takes away the fear of public speaking. The exams were not very difficult and overall was easy.

Internships Opportunities

5

I have done 6 internships at the time of my graduation. They were all good and made me build self-esteem. In a law internship, a student mostly can observe regular court proceedings, learn to draft, can appear I court to take pass overs or next dates. It is maximum exposure for a law student on the court.

Placement Experience

3.5

5th year only. Before that they provide internships to students. My plans are I am studying in chandigarh university now for LLM. And after that I want to make my career in litigation or clear JAG which is judge advocate General, army of lawyers.

Fees and Financial Aid

As per my opinion fees structure was quite high. And I think the university should lower it down because with every passing batch the fees hike. I did not got any scholarships as there was no scholarship program. In financial assistance, it was that a student can pay in installments. I did not opt for any job because I wanted to di higher studies but I wanted a paid internship in Chandigarh (I am a delhi resident) one of my faculty helped me through it.

Campus Life

4

Diwali fest was very good at cpj, rest we had sports day at main campus and 3 days fest for whole ip university. Yes, library has every book possible. Classes has whiteboards and projectors as well.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh university | LLM

It doesn't provide masters courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being very passionate about law it brought me closer towards the subjects i thought I'd never like. It's vast curriculum has made me like a lot of subjects and has also given me a real life applications and further academic achievement however I feel like the curriculum should focus on law subjects from the very beginning and teaching could be improved by further interactive session between students and faculty.

There are not as such campus placements but the students secure ppos from the law firms. Majority of the students do not go for corporates as the field diversified in judiciary, litigation etc. The placement cell is working hard to bring in companies for hiring.

The curriculum is good for the real world applications as the course teaches us about the practical work. They can improve their course by adding more moot court practices during the semester and by giving the students the opportunity to practically utilise the bookish knowledge they are gaining.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.

After 2 years of integrated courses, you can become eligible for a job. In law, there is no company, but if you have good communication skills, you will be placed in one of the high courts or supreme courts under a senior lawyer. I don't know much about packages. My plan was to go to Oxford University for further studies.
