Entrance Preview

Odisha JEE , My State Rank was around 4000 and I was referred by my cousins and their friends who's were continuing their B.Tech and asked to join for Mechanical Branch only.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well my specialisation was Mechanical and the Mechanical labs were pretty well equipped but we were only allowed to observe and those equipment's were mostly operated by lab assistants or M Tech students. But during our final year projects, our lab assistants helped us a lot with the tools and equipments those were required for our projects.

Internships Opportunities

There were no internship programs carried out in college. We were provided with a bonafide certificate and we submitted that certificate in companies in which we wanted to intern in. But we had few one day visits to companies like Infosys, and few core companies.

Placement Experience

3

College had tie-up with Wipro Technologies, Ramtech and few other companies. We had few on campus drives but majority of students were placed in off campus drives. Before we completed our engineering 30% of final year students were already placed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was according the norms of State govt. but hostel fees and other amenities cost was decided by college management. Those who enrolled through the E-Counselling had less few compared to guys who joined in the management seats. All the state govt scholarships were available.

Fees and Financial Aid

All the state and central govt scholarships were available. I availed the state govt scholarships for scoring good marks in my 12 standard by state govt. Other scholarships were provided to some particular caste students . Even college provided scholarships to the toppers of every Branch from all the year.

Campus Life

3.5

Well the gender ratio was pretty good except for my branch. The ratio was 140:23 in my Branch but luckily we had friends in other branches. Parties were organised in different hostels. There were some kind of racism between the local students and hostel students during the initial years but later these differences vanished.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Well hostel food was not good which perhaps is the case in every college. But during few events lie Ganesh Puja or Durga puja few special dishes were prepared. Some times once in every week a special dish was prepared. At the start of every month there would be meeting deciding the menu for the month. But most of the time we were having good from outside.

Exam Structure

Every month we had unit tests, semester exams were scheduled by university, almost 5 days a week we had labs some of were boring and some were pretty interesting. Overall experience was chilled out but the lab tests were little tough.

Faculty

4

Faculty were well qualified few of our professor's were retired from NIITs and other deemed universities. My favourite department in college was the Physics Department, in particular Satya Sir. He was one of the youngest professor's who really could get every one focused during his class. My personal favourite Bhol Sir from Mechanical Department, apart from Mechanical lessons he gave intellectual lessons about life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Curriculum is like ok for an govt engineering college not like an iit/nit. There are many departments where equipments are very old & haven't changed for a long time. Exams are conducted very fast like mid sem is conducted in 1/1.5 months and end sem is in 2 months

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
