I am proud to be a part of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology

I searched for about 50 colleges/universities in Jaipur but I found Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology is the best one because it's an exclusive college that focuses mainly on this 1 domain & also it's affiliated to the University of Rajasthan. As I belong to General & minority category, so I would like to inform that student can avail only 1 scholarship at a time, so I took meritorious scholarship instead of minority scholarship (depending on 12th%) If I talk about the admission process here; then, the documents required are 10th marksheet, 12 th provisional marksheet, passport size photos of the applicant, his/her migration certificate, character certificate, gap certificate (if any), transfer certificate, alongwith form fee, i.e., Rs. 590. Also, a whole college campus visit can be done at the time of admission.

I chose Biotechnology because its a diverse domain with multi-faceted scopes in the future & it has been evident in covid pandemic scenarios that how miracles like vaccines, RT-PCR, PPE kits, etc. are born from this field. A new era of Biotechnology is arising by 2030. There are separate faculties for separate subjects (in Bsc. Biotech. total 12 subjects are there). And acc. to me, it's not a crowdy place but has healthy competition here. Teacher's qualifications are doctoral & master's degrees with many years of experience. Some are prominent research scientists as well. Also, I would like to mention that our college has been represented at world level due to "Wastewater epidemiology" research by our deputy director. And teaching methodology is good as it is all online in present, so ppts, notes, e-books, etc. are provided and the classes are interactive. Both semester & annual system of exams are there. Question papers come from Uni. of Raj. Here , weekly tests are taken.

As I am now in 2nd yr. , I have been selected as a marketing intern at Internshala with a good stipend, & as a Campus Ambassador at E-cell IIT Bombay that is a non-profit organization. Outcomes are marketing research, management, networking, communication & entrepreneurial skills.

Generally, placement eligibility is after BSc. & MSc. completion. According to college's previous year's records, gold medalists are born back to back years. Students are placed in renowned companies like Biocon , Byju's, Life cell, Team, Allen, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, Dr. B. Lal clinical laboratory, etc. Almost more than half of the class strength are placed. After getting Bsc. Biotechnology degree from here, I will go for MSc. in Biotechnology from AIIMS or will give RAS exam or will start my venture.

Fees are really satisfactory & affordable according to the course, i.e., Rs. 63590 approx. including form fee (590), caution money (3000), rest is the tution fee including GST. Also, there is a separate fee (7000) for IBT, i.e., the Industrial Biotechnology Training programme. Fees can be given in installments too. Hostel fee & transport fee is separate, Best part is late fee is not charged so far. Scholarships are given at the end of the year, after the completion of whole fees ( Meritorious, minority scholarships, etc.) There are various cells on our campus like academic cell, higher education cell, entrepreneurship cell, etc. Students are selected on the basis of interviews & are made as representatives for 1 year but they are non-paid. I am a marketing intern at Internshala, campus ambassador at E-cell IIT Bombay representing my college.

Fests & events like WAVES (Intra college), BIOCHROME (intercollege) are held in the mid of the session. There are books & a digital library here. Here, renowned author books are there such as Developmental Biology by R.M. Twyman that I liked the most, Plant Physiology by Taiz & Zeiger, & many more. Notes are also available here & the librarian is supportive. Newspapers are also there. Classrooms are comfortable to study with CCTV cameras, fans, whiteboard, the good sitting arrangement according to the height criteria. A projector facility is also available. There are separate labs such as Microbiology lab, Immunology lab, Biochemistry lab, Environmental Biotechnology lab, etc. Hygiene canteen is there with both home-like food & fast food too. Extracurricular activities are held monthly. Competitions like Meme making, poster making, content writing, cooking, arts-related, etc. are held. Aanandam course for social community, aandhi project is running. Prakrit for sustainability.
