I have cleared UGC JRF and joined in the Department of Criminology & Forensic Science, Ph.D program.

The Ph.D course starts with a Pre-PhD course work for six months, The course work contains Research methodology and statistical methods for the research. Once we have completed the course work successfully then only we will get the permanent registration for Ph.D. The course work really helpful for the future research.

Not the college, but the University Grant Commission provides fellowship for the students who clear the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). For the Junior Research Fellows UGC is paying monthly 25000 Rs fellowship & 20% of the HRA.

There is no placement facilities in our department (Criminology & Forensic Science). The job opportunities also not the good with this particular course in the present situation. The Law enforcement department should give priority for the students those who have studies criminology & Forensic Science, unfortunately there is no such weightage or reservations.

The fees structure is feasible for all the students. The fee structure is maintained as per the reservation category. The fees structure is different for General, Sc, ST and Category I students. Those who are receiving university fellowship or some other grants having no issues with the fees.

There are several scholarship and grants for the research scholars. University Grant Commissions Junior Research Fellowship UGC Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC & ST candidates. UGC Maulana Fellowship for OBC.

The campus life is really awesome and there are several extra curricular activities in the university for the students. There are students from all over the world and the ethnicity and diversity really good. Some of the departments conducts periodically various programs for the welfare of the students.

The alumni network and senior students are not that much active. still they are helpful for some extant. The seniors are really helpful in always to know very well about the University and its nature.

The Ph.D course starts with a Pre Ph.D course work, the course work is for one semester or 6 months. The course work is compulsory for all students who enrol for Ph.D programs. Once the Course work finished they can go for Permanent registration with their Ph.D synopsis or research proposal.

I have cleared University Grant Commission NET & JRF. The candidates who clear UGC NET? JRF are exempted from the Ph.D entrance test conducted by the University of Mysore. Whoever exempted from the entrance test should find a Research supervisor and get a consent letter to do the Ph.D provisional registration.

There are only three faculties in this department. The faculties are not upto the mark and expecting unnecessary favours from the students. To get admission for Ph.D programs the students have to please the faculties through unwanted means. To find a good research guide in this department is really hard.
