Unbiased review of International Institute of Hospitality Management(ISHM) Kolkata

Before applying to ISHM, I have applied to SBIHM Kolkata to pursue BBA but later I changed my mind and thought of doing Aviation Management and I searched on google for the best colleges for aviation and I found this college suitable. After then I did contact them and getting every relevant detail like fee structure, placement opportunities, and the infrastructure, I was satisfied, and then I decided to take admission here. The admission criteria aren't that complex in ISHM. A minimum of 50% marks was required in class 12 and I had to appear for the entrance test of 50 marks and after passing the criteria my admission was done after paying the admission and semester fees.

My desire is to be a part of the aviation industry and this course will surely enrich me that is why I've chosen this course. The faculty in the college are highly qualified and have great experience, some have more than 10 years of teaching in this college. They interact with the students very politely and friendly. They are keen on revising the topics and they try to clear the concept of each and every student. The faculties give students every freedom they deserve and they staunchly focus on developing us in every possible way. After the completion of any chapter, they give assignments and take exams accordingly, and fortunately, every student gets a good score if they attend the classes regularly.

They provide internship opportunities to the students who are in the 5th semester and they promised that they will be providing internship and training in Thailand and Malaysia. Our batch is the first who is pursuing this course from this college and we are not yet in the 5th semester so we have not yet got an internship. Once we start getting such facilities I will update accordingly.

The placement procedure starts in the 6th semester as per them. Our college has placement partnerships with Taj, Spicejet, Hyatt, Expedia. They do not reveal any detail about the salary or package offered to the passed out or the recruited students. ISHM claims that they have a placement record of 95% and they have placed many students in the top companies globally. After getting the degree I would be fulfilling my desire of being a part of the aviation industry as an airport manager.

The fee of admission is Rs 25000, books, uniform and other equipment is Rs 2000(yearly) tuition and training fee is Rs 25000, university fee is Rs 19000, library fee is Rs 1000 laboratory and development fee is Rs 2000(yearly), caution deposit is Rs 5000. The total fee for this course is Rs 274,000 after deducting 10000 from 4 semesters and 5000 from the last 2 semesters as a scholarship which was given by the college. Apart from the scholarship, I have not received any additional financial assistance or any other sort of scholarship.

The campus life is pretty much exciting. Our college organizes various events, programs and as promised excursions too. They conduct sports events and carnivals every year for every student as well as freshers parties separately for the 1st year students. They conduct such events in hotels like ITC, Westin, and so on and arrange carnival and sports events at famous grounds and locations in Kolkata like NKDA and New Town Mela ground. They never fail to provide entertainment and diminish the joyful moments of college life.
