I applied to mostly tier 1 and tier 2 colleges. The common mistake i did was to focus on department rather than the fame of college. I choose to apply to only computer science and information technology. If i had focused a little on the college rather than the department i could have got through anna university or MIT. Those government colleges provide you with various connections and resources for self development.Everything will be at your will and at your pace. Our college has a custom rule that each of us has to follow so the concept of freedom cuts off here. Things are spoonfed here.You donot get much exposure.
