Remarks

The Management is good and are always helpful. They always have discussion with the student representatives for any suggestions and comments shall there be any changes and initiatives being taken.

Entrance Preview

I haven't taken any exams to join the college. As it was the College's first year and we were the first batch to graduate, there were no much competitions to get an admission. I got an admission through management quota. The admission process was simple. Fill the application form and submit with the academic fees to enroll post which there was an orientation program for everyone.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is excellent. As all the Engg. colleges in Tamil Nadu fall under the purview of Anna University the syllabus is designed by them. The course best suits for research which lays a platform for your future career. You have the opportunity to select your electives in the final year. College labs could be utilized for your research.

Internships Opportunities

There wasn't any internship provided during my Academic years (till 2005), unsure if there are any available today.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and Job opportunities were less during our period as it was a new college. We joined with other colleges and were provided opportunities to take part in off-campus drives. For the off-campus drive, companies like IBM, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Sutherland, Satyam took part. We had a successful placement of 80% in this drive. They offered approx 3 lakhs per annum.

College Events

5

We had multiple events organised in our College. Events like Departmental programs, ISTE, Rotract Club, Sports day, Symposiums, Cultural programs, Technical events etc. Departmental functions would be specific to department and will include all the students of that department from different (1st till 4th years).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was simple. Tuition Fees and Exams Fees are the factors for a student who was a Day scholar. Inclusive to the above we had Lodging and Boarding Fees for students who opted to stay within the College premises. During my study, I spent approx 18000 per year for Tuition and Exam fees and for Lodging and Boarding I spent around approx 15000 per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

As per my understanding, students who studied with me had availed education loan from banks. The administration took additional responsibility to help the students with documentation so that the process for availing the loan went smoother.

Campus Life

5

The campus life was really good. The college was situated in the outskirts of the city with all greenery around us. No worries about the city nuisance. Whenever you want to enjoy the nature, you could just take a walk outside your building as the campus has a vast area of about 106 acre with variety of trees grown around.

Hostel Facilities

4

As it was the first year of establishment, the hostel facilities were not good. We had a large dormitory in which 14 people stayed. The dormitory was arranged with double cot. Each of us were requested to take whichever birth we want. The food was fair at the initial days which became good when days passed by. When we left the college after our studies, a new hostel was constructed with all amenities in it.

Alumni/Alumna

As we were the first batch to graduate from the college, there were no seniors for us. To our junior we helped them with our knowledge on whatever we had learned from the college in terms of personality development as well on the curriculum aspects.

Exam Structure

In a single semester we were provided with 2 or 3 model exams so that we were able to go through our books completely before appearing for the final exams. Model exams made easy to help us understand the subjects and reduced the stress for the final exams. Labs were awesome as we were provided with ample amount of time to do our study and research over our lab exercises.

Admission

The administration was good. A specific process was followed so there wasn't any confusion on what needs to be done next. We reached the reception who guided us to the administration office. The clerk provided the application form explaining all the details on what needs to be filled. After filling all the details in the form, we went to a specific counter to pay the fees and then with the receipt the application form was submitted.

Faculty

5

The faculties are knowledgeable and excellent. The subjects will be taught practically with theoretical objectives so that even an incapable student is able to understand. Mode of communication and student- teacher bonding is good. The faculties had finished their doctorates and have published many publications to. They are good in their subjects.

Placement Experience:

In my college, on campus placement opportunitiesd for core biotechnology and life science fields were quite limited, While there were placement drives conducted during the final year, the majority of companies that visited were from IT, customer support, and non-core sectors, which weren't directly relevant to the field of biotechnology.
