I wrote CAT for getting into IMNU, scored 90.38 percentile. I opted IMNU because of various reasons, some of these were Return on Investment, Decent placements, good campus, good teaching padelogy, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is decent, the pedagogy is really good. The case studies included are very apt for the getting deep insights in to the subject. Also in some subjects India case studies are included, so that the students can relate better. Yes, I would like to mention that some important electives are not removed recently, which is not good.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, IMNU provides 100% internships to all the students and according to me the average pay would be around INR 5,000 per month. Some of these are unpaid as well, but it is about learning and not the pay in internships.
Placement Experience
Placement and Job opportunities were very good till last year, but it does not seem the same this year. There are few very good companies visiting this year as well like, cannot mention as a policy. The average package according to me would be around Rs.7 Lpa.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure - The fees is to be paid in four installments, two each year. The fees for hostel is separate, separate for hotel, and one more different misc cheque. The separate cheques makes it a confusing for all. The college is fee is very reasonable.
Fees and Financial Aid
College itself provides different kinds of scholarships. Top 30 selected students get a scholarship of INR 30,000 per annum, Then based on some criteria there are few more types of scholarships. The second year one is based on performance.
Campus Life
Campus is beautiful and one of the best we can get in India. Very close to nature with lot of green area. The sports facility here is just awesome and there is full encouragement for all other extracurricular activities and competitions. All of these events are conducted the clubs and committees formed by the students of the college itself.
Alumni/Alumna
Nirma as a college have a great network of Alumni. The Kaizen committee have been recording and maintaining all the database for this purpose and meet and connect with many of them every year. The Alumni are also helping us to improve the learning, and find out what corporate organisations are looking for.
Exam Structure
It is more of continuous evaluation (60%) and the rest 40% is end term. The continuous evaluation consists of presentations, projects, assignments (individual and group), quizzes, class test. Some exams are very practical oriented and some are just checking your mugging capacity, which is the case with almost every college.
Admission
I wrote CAT entrance exam. I also applied specifically for the IMNU (a separate admission form). After the results of CAT, a shortlist was out from the college. I was called for an interview by choosing the centre as per my convenience from the list. There was only one round that was interview. Few days later I received the offer. I also got a mail for scholarship with the selection e-mail.
Faculty
The Marketing faulty is very good at IMNU. The teachers are thorough with the concepts, they are well experienced in the field with good Corporate background. The Finance department has few very good faculties, but those are very limited, rest of the finance faculties are not up to the mark at all.
