Affordable college- RU

University of Rajasthan is a government institution, and also one of the oldest universities in Rajasthan. So the cost of studying is very cheap and anyone can afford for the education. It has regular courses as well as management courses and higher form of studies as well. For admissions, I applied from the college main office. Options of applying online is available as well. The application fee differs from quota to quota. I paid Rs 500. A valid CAT score is mandatory including a bachelors degree of minimum 50%. The seats are given on the basis merit and excellence in sports as well.

I pursued MBA because i wanted to study further for better career options and also for a better understanding of my subject. The form of teaching was lecture based. I had to take important points down from the lectures. We had six faculty members to teach us. They were very well qualified with a teaching experience of at least 20 years. We were provided with notes as well. Assignments were given as well. We had specializations in 4 electives i.e marketing, financial management, human resource management and entrepreneurship. We had 4 semester with each semester with each semester consisting of 36 credit scores. We are not eligible to sit for our University exam unless we qualify our continuous internal assessment with at least 25%. It consists of vivas,assignment,written test, presentation and projects. The specialications starts from semester 3 onwards.

We have very few placements as most of us usually opt for jobs in government sectors or within the university as well. The department also tires its best to bring recruiters apart from the government sector. Recruiters like ICIC, HDFC and Bank of baroda visit the campus for recruitment. The average package is around Rs 2.5 lakhs p.a. In my case, i first applied for the campus recruitment in back office, but i got a better prospect in Delhi, where i got job in Greenpeace.

University of Rajasthan being a government institution has given everyone the opportunity to study their desired courses at a very affordable cost. It also provides scholarships to its students on the basis of merit, sports, literacy sponsored by the state government. My 1st year fees was for MBA RS 5500. When it comes to fee hikes I am not really sure about it. Students who have completed their MA can opt for on campus jobs as assist. professors or work in research works as well.

University of Rajasthan is approx 705 acres big. It consists of different faculties and department spread across its area. It as research labs, central library, auditorium rooms for lectures and seminars to be conducted. We have NCC and NSS groups including a student union cell as well including other clubs for different interests per individual. We also have annual sports being conducted on various levels and inter college youth festival where music, dance, art and other forms of recreational activities are conducted. All the events conducted in the campus is looked after by the student union.
