Remarks

I am very happy to be a member of the RIMS family network. It is the top college of jharkhand and since it is the second most emerging medical college in in-India i am proud of my college.

Entrance Preview

JCECE- medical rank-61 i am very inclined to study medical science this college is one of the finest and second most emerging college in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

M.B.B.S. is an undergraduate course in medical science. It's duration is 5.5 years which comprise 4.5 yrs study and 1 yr of compulsory internship. The course syllabus is quite vast comprising of 4 professional exams. There are a total of 19 subjects in the whole course.

Internships Opportunities

Yes my college does provide an internship of 1yr. Since I am in first year I don't know the experiences and about the various companies. But what I have heard from my seniors is the stipend is around 12-14 thousand per month.

Placement Experience

4

Since it is a medical college, there is nothing like placements and coming of companies. To say about job opportunities students either crack various entrances like CMS,UPSC to gain entry to railways etc. Some goes to pursue MBA while the rest prepares for PG entrances.

College Events

4

There are various societies in our college like movie society, quiz society, literary society etc. These societies held various events and competitions like essay writing , quiz competition , movie making , poster making , calligraphy etc. Often for entertainment DJ night and orchestra are held by these societies. We the students are the members of these societies and we students are the ones who participate in the various events. A new initiative called "prayas" has been started by our seniors in which we give basic education and we teach the small children of the staff and mess people in our free time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible for a normal middle class family . The tuition fee is around 6500 per annum for general students. There is ofcourse a concession for the reserve categories and for the female students. Hostel charge is around 3500 per annum. And the mess fee is around 2500 per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a government medical college, the fee structure is not that huge. Hence students generally doesn't require any kind of scholarship or any such loan facility.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is very nice and interesting to live. Often fest's and functions are held as told before by the various societies. Apart from that extracurricular sports activities are present. We have tennis court, basketball court, a football stadium, and an indoor stadium for volleyball and badminton. The gender ratio is 1:1 giving equal priorities and competitions. Students from various religions are living in the campus premises. There is nothing like discrimination on the basis of cast, race or religion. We live all united.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities is superb here. We are provided single rooms for every student. There is no term like "sharing rooms" in RIMS-Ranchi. There are total 7 boys hostel and 6 separate girls hostel in our campus. Each hostel has around 140-150 single rooms. Coming to the food, we are offered dishes which can be substituted with the homemade food . Both veg as well as non-veg is supplied. The mess provides 3 times a day- breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is full of great doctors which have earned lots of respect in the society. The seniors are very helpful in all sorts starting from academics to sports and various events. We have a healthy competition in any event or quiz that are held in the college.

Exam Structure

In anatomy there are completion examinations held after each chapter is completed. Besides there are terminal exams held after every 3 months. And at the end of one year there is the professional university exams, paper correction is done by a different university and for viva too external examiners come from various colleges all over India.

Admission

I got admission through the state medical entrance- JCECE-2016. The notification was released in the month of march form filling was started from april-may. Exam was conducted in June. Result was declared in August. Classes started from September. Administration of college is very strict i like the overall management of the institution. Faculty is very nice.

Faculty

4

Faculty is quite nice. Specially in my first year the anatomy and biochemistry faculties are very good. They have quite descent qualifications having an M.S/M.D . They are very interested to teach us their respective topics and share with us their experiences with patients.

MBBS is all about learning and exploring . Only choose this profession when you have a will to help others otherwise it would be a difficult course for you. The passing marks of examination is 50 and for that you need to study hard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program is a highly sought-after degree that prepares students for a career in medicine. A key aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is its emphasis on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. The inclusion of subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology provides a strong foundation for understanding the human body and its functions. Furthermore, the clinical rotations and internships allow students to interact directly with patients, giving invaluable hands-on experience. The curriculum is well-structured to equip students for real-world medical practice and further academic pursuits. Clinical postings in hospitals and exposure to different medical specialties enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. The focus on research methodology also lays the groundwork for those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies or contributing to medical advancements. However, there are areas where the MBBS curriculum could improve. For instance, introducing more interactive teaching methods, such as case-based discussions and simulation labs, would better prepare students for complex clinical scenarios. Additionally, integrating modules on soft skills, such as communication and empathy, could enhance patient care. Exams are frequent, usually held at the end of each semester, with assessments ranging from theory papers to practical exams. While challenging, they are crucial for assessing a student’s knowledge and clinical aptitude. However, spreading out exams and providing more time for preparation could reduce stress and improve performance, ensuring a better learning experience overall. Cons are course length and also the difficulty level.
