Over all a good college

I got admission to 'Matoshri College of Engineering & Research Institute' through AIEEE exams. I preferred this college as it was close to my place. I got seat in both IT and CS branch . But my interest was more into CS.

I was perusing B.E in Computer Science. We were given abandoned opportunities in terms of improving the practical skills. We had lot of practical assignments/assessments to clear as part of the academic course. Apart from academic Internal contest were held which motivates students to come up with innovative ideas.

Internship was not available during my stay in college. But yes now they do provide internship but m not sure about stipend.

Placements & Job opportunities within the college were not much as our's was the 1st batch of the college. But we were given opportunities and full support to appear for interviews conducted at other colleges falling under Pune University, TCS, Persistant, DataMatrix,Accenture were the major companies which came for placements and the average package offered was 3 Lakhs p.a

College conducts extracurricular activities, yearly a fest is conducted for almost a month which includes all kind of events i.e sports, programming contest, exhibitions and many more. College environment is filled with fun the competitive spirit of the students is high.

Fee structure is feasible compared to other colleges. Fees is paid semester wise. Also the fee structure depends on the admission mode whether joined via counselling or through management quota. The approx fees per semester was fifty five thousand (during 2012).

Scholarship is provided based on the academic performance. All some scholarships available for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC or EBC.

Gender ratio is not an issue here and no discrimination based on gender, race, religion is encouraged. The hostel provided is at 2-2.5 km distance from the college. College buses are available for transportation. The food provided at college and hostel mess was good and not that bad as we usually hear about hostel foods. The rent depends on your preference like no. of people sharing. Over all the leaving cost is reasonable.

Too many practicals one after other, but the main hectic part was completing assignments and lab manuals on time. Also at times the university exams used to be in continuation without day gap leaving less time for preparation. And it will be more hectic if one has an arrears because there are chance one has to appear for two exams in a single day.

I went through counselling and based on my AIEEE result, I was allotted this college. Admission process is not too complicated. While registering for counselling process we were handed a booklet which had in depth details of Admission process as well details of all the colleges with the courses available.

As we were the 1st batch of the college, management was very concerned about the faculty and hence we had well qualified staff. There were also professors with 15+ year of experience and were really pro in the subjects they taught us. Over all the faculty was good.
