All I have to say about IIBS is that it is one of the progressive B-Schools in the country. There is positive intent from management to inculcate managerial abilities in students.

Management Aptitude Test is the primary test conducted and considered here at IIBS. As a norm for MAT, one has to clear step by step process in the admission test. I was required to come through written test, GD, Interview. My eligibility was decided on combined weighted average of components in MAT.

Courses are administered in a well-structured way so as to prepare students thoroughly in each aspect of management. While 1st& 2nd Semesters are meant to be foundation sessions, 3rd& 4th Semesters are earmarked for familiarizing students with advanced management principles.

Being a well-known B-School, IIBS has tie-ups with prominent companies. This helps the students find internship opportunities during the middle of the academic year. Many of us got chance to do summer training at some of the best corporate organizations.

Placement is a regular feature in each of the IIBS academic sessions. Placement itinerary is made known to the students. Interested students are registered for campus interviews. On the day of campus selection, the event is co-ordinated by the IIBS Placement Wing. As many as 20-30 companies visited during our academic year. Many of us got offers ranging between 10-25 lakhs.

IIBS is a place for overall development of students. Academics are not the only focus. In the middle of hectic learning, we had time to explore on other aspects of learning in symposium, guest lecture, industrial visits, adventure learning, and international tour. Management festivals provided us a platform to showcase our cultural talent.

If you are looking at quality management education with not so high a fee, IIBS could fit the bill. You may have heard of B-Schools charging in excess of 15 lakhs for an MBA. In comparison, IIBS fees of around 6 to 8 lakhs (including hostel and other expenditure) might be within one’s reach.

I know this is a frequent question asked of every management institute. I too was interested in knowing whether any loan scheme existed here at IIBS. The feedback that I got was the management itself did not arrange any such loans, but had mentioned financial institutes that would lend educational loans to students. On the issue of scholarship, yes IIBS has a policy of honoring students with distinction.

Our campus life was more or less what we had imagined of. To many of us who had come from far-off places, IIBS campus provided unique & novel experience, filled with academic and extracurricular activities. It was always pleasant. At the same time, we were able to explore beyond the ordinary. As a result, we could shape our personality.

To most of us, IIBS hostel was second home. The hostel atmosphere was such that it made us feel easy & comfortable. Generally speaking accommodation was good with basic amenities. On top of it, the mess served good quality food. With friends around, my hostel stay was truly enjoyable.

Alumni are what make an institute meaningful & complete. Here at IIBS Alumni Association is set in motion. Graduates are invited to register for Alumni Meet, which is held every year. My experience at the Alumni Meet was special considering the helping hand extended by our seniors. Their professional advice was something invaluable.

Exams were scheduled as per B-School Exam Time Table. Semester Scheme of exam was followed as it is done elsewhere in management institutes. Results are declared fast so that students would know their progress instantaneously. It is very strict evaluation meaning you’re required to be studious throughout.

Friendly, learned and always willing to pass on their wealth of knowledge to us – that is how you would describe IIBS faculty. Some have been serving since beginning, while a few are recent entrants. Majority of them have corporate knowledge, which makes them truly special.
