Remarks
I have applied for IPU and Chandigarh university but they are charging a lot on graduation then I got admission in a well-reputed college in my hometown so I joined here. I belong to the general category so I haven't applied for any quota. To get admission in DEI one should have passed 10th and 12th with a recognized board with 60+ %. For UG degrees you should be between 18 - 30 years age group. The admission process for UG DEGREES in DEI is divided into three steps. 1. Your 10th and 12th %. 2. Your written test score. 3. Personal interviews. All the scores obtained by you in the three segments are merged together and you get admission on the basis of merit list. I got admission in 3rs list of BBA in LOGISTICS which was then a new program in DEI.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason behind choosing this course i.e BBA in LOGISTICS is because this was the new program as well as it provides me with internships for one and a half years and rests for studies in college. It is basically an apprenticeship-based program. In my faculty i.e FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE, there are around 50 teachers, and students are around 1000. The teaching method in DEI is very good. They use advanced technologies for teaching like they use projectors, ppt based teaching. Exams take place twice in one semester in the form of CT-1 and CT-2. In DEI there is a saying that one can easily pass in DEI and failing is difficult because they offer so many additional assignments and daily home assignments which help students to pass their semesters easily.
Internships Opportunities
I was provided an internship in my first year of college. The company in which I have done internship is expeditors, it is a US-based company. It offers me a stipend of 15000 per month. The tenure of the internship was 6 months.
Placement Experience
DEI usually provides placement to every student. For UG degrees in the sixth or the last semester, placement drives take place. Big companies like tata group, TCS, Accenture, KPMG, blue dart, DHL visited the college and many other small companies are there which offer placement to almost every student. The average salary is around 2.5 lakhs per annum which is offered to a student after completing graduation. The highest offered salary can go up to 6 lakhs which is offered to a student in DEI. The percentage of students actually getting the placement is 60-70 % as there are many students which don't even want to take placement after graduation. I will take the placement from college and go into corporate for some years then will pursue MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees herein DEI are very nominal. One can easily study in DEI as compared to any other institute in india . They do not increase their fees regularly. For eg - You can do your UG Degree at a very low cost of 20000 ( for full course ). They provide 100% scholarships to bright students who can't pay their fees which is the most appreciative thing of this university.
Campus Life
There is not much for a social life that DEI can offer though there is an annual fest in the month of January every year which they called as the foundation day. Their library is very big they offer books and magazines from every segment to study, for their students. Their classrooms are not very big, having simple chairs and projectors in some classes. Fans and lights are provided in every class. In short, their classrooms are very basic. DEI offers almost every sport for their students including football, basketball, cricket, and many other sports for which they provide necessary equipment and fields to play. I don't think there is any such club or website run by students through DEI Runs its own NSS department which aims of cleaning the fields, college, and outside the campus in the whole city. These social service drives run twice or thrice every year and every student has to do this service to take their degree from college.
Interview Experience
For UG courses only written tests and personal interviews are held. Topics for the written test include. 1. Logical reasoning 2. General knowledge 3. English 4. Maths In interviews, they ask about their college, and some general knowledge questions and some reasoning questions are also asked. In interviews, they basically look for the overall personality of a student and their dedication to studying in their college. I have taken coaching from a private institute for the preparation of written test though it is not very difficult you can study for it at your home by referring some books on these topics.
