My Experience in SSIT during my BE

SSIT is one of the premier institutes in the Ahmedabad district, situated at a prime location that is easily accessible to students of both Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. The admission process includes entrance exam scores from GUJCET and your 12th board results. The enrollment process starts in early May and goes on until the end of June. The main reason for preferring this college over the others was to faculty to student interaction percentage. Since other colleges have a far greater number of students in a single class, the amount of interaction with faculty decreases and hence the quality of education decreases as well. At SSIT, quality is preferred over quantity, which was the best reason for me to join. I got to know about this college through one of my close friends who was already admitted here. I further researched more about the college on websites like- Collegedunia, Collegedekho and Collegesearch.

I chose to pursue Bachelors in Computer Engineering course. This is because of my personal interest in the technologies involved in this field of work. Also, the faculty of the CE department is very qualified and well-versed with all the technological advancements happening in the field currently. The knowledge and grip over the subject just make learning under them more enjoyable for us as students. The faculty: student ratio is 1:60, but the classes are usually divided into 2 batches for more receptiveness from students during lectures so it's 1:30 in normal circumstances. Each and every one of the faculties in our department has completed a Master's in this field, with our HOD having a PhD in one of the sub-branches of this field as well. The classes are very interactive and every topic is explained in detail with doubt being solved at the same time or even after the classes in case any student wishes to ask. Exams are conducted in 2 ways - midterms and final university exams.

Campus placements are open for students after the 7th semester. One of the major recurring company is Wipro which makes almost 5-10 offers every year. The average packages lie around 1.5 LPA. Most of the students opt for Master's after completion of their bachelor's so there isn't any official percentage of placements developed. But among those who appear for jobs right after their graduation, a high number of students get placed. My plans after graduating are to pursue Masters in the Computer Science field. Faculties, namely- prof. Deepali Mahatma, prof. Rajul Suthar, Prof. Niraj Thakor, help and assist student with their plans after graduating as well. With their help, I plan to draw out the best possible path for me to achieve my goal and get a Master's in the above mentioned field.

The fee structure is curated as mentioned below: 30500 - per semester(Installment payment is also available) The fee structure is the same for every student of any branch belonging to any semester. There is no fee hike policy in place and the students are allowed to pay their fees of the current semester anytime during the whole semester. There are various scholarships that are applicable here and that is a major benefit for the students. Various financial assistance programs are also present which look into the student's background and analyze their financial status and grant aids accordingly. On-campus placements are also available for those who wish to appear.

The campus is very cosy with canteen, college ground and verandah of block-A being the main hangout spots. Annual techfest - NIJANAND, is held in January, along with the celebration of many other festivals also takes place in the college. The fests are organized by the students themselves along with faculties overlooking their work. With an entire floor dedicated to it, the library consists of the presence of both e-libraries as well as a library consisting of physical material. It is very vast and consists of books of all branches along with many reference books for other extra-curriculum subjects as well. Classrooms have projectors to support faculty when in need. Inter-college sports competitions are held every year, students of all branches compete in them. Based on their performance, they are selected in the college teams which represent our college in various competition on various levels. Various clubs are created by the students and maintained by them as well.
