Remarks

In Shiv Nadar University ,there is an infrastructure for research which is generally not found in many colleges. The faculties are cooperative .The health care facility is good. The curriculum allows us the flexibility to take courses of our choice along with compulsory one and it also gives the privilege of completing a minor in a subject of our choice so there are people who do major in CSE and minor in management or mathematics. The mess food is healthy and for delicacies there is restaurant in the campus. The only drawback which I feel is that the location is remote and it takes almost 2 hours to reach Delhi Airport . In 2019,I had given SNUSAT conducted by Shiv Nadar University and it also serves as a deciding factor for admission. It deals with aptitude section and there is on the spot essay writing. I took admission in this college as it has faculties who are in research and their alumni are in famous universities and have an active placement and career development cell.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am currently enrolled in B.tech CSE as I am interested in this competitive coding and I was already introduced to coding in 8th grade. The resources were available easily, so it was advantageous for developing further understanding. There is a variety of curriculum included by faculties to make the subject interesting. The faculty student ratio is 1:10 which makes sure that no student is left out and problems of every student is solved. The faculty is generally involved in research and many have completed their education from famous universities and have written books and research papers on the subject. They have a deep understanding of the subject. They employ different teaching methods to make course interactive and student input is highly valued. The schedule for exams is specified and is flexible according to student's schedule .The difficulty increases as we move towards 4th term, so effort increases. There are hardly any issues while giving test and are solved if present.

Internships Opportunities

3

Some internships are provided by the university in career development center where stipend is about 2000 rupees .You are free to enroll in other off campus internships and regular updates for same are also provided. The CDC provides internship in corporate sector, NGO, academic institutions and so on. Many students have completed their internships from IIT,BARC, and many more. The details are available on official website.

Placement Experience

5

Campus Placement begins from 3rd year. The employment partners are tcs, deloitte, cognizant, Goldman sachs, adobe and so on. The major recruitment is from Computer Science and about 97% of students are recruited. In 2018-2019 the average package was 6.28 LPA. Highest salary was 31.5 LPA. I am currently planning to pursue higher education after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The academic fees is usually 2,35,000 annually. For batch 2019,there was a scholarship policy .In first year it was based on boards percentage so I got a scholarship about 90%.For further years the policy was based on CGPA so mine is currently 70%.This makes the college fees a lot more affordable. There is generally not a fees hike and if there is, it is on basis of mess and laundry and residential charges and is not that high.

Campus Life

4

The best part about campus life is Breeze which is annual cultural, sports and technical fest of the university. This is generally conducted in winter months. There are also DJ nights conducted in this event. It is super fun. In academic perspective, there are many books on variety of subjects available in library ranging from science and technology to political sciences and humanities. Online resources are also made available by librarian. Research journals are also present. There are many activities related to sports conducted on campus. There is an exclusive sports center for indoor sports and sports ground for outdoor ones. There is a regular yoga session going on there in morning and evening. For sporty people this place is actually great. There are many clubs like Aura, Inspiria and about 20 others which is an inclusive student community organizing and participating in events ranging from tech to business to debates ,arts and non-profit works. These clubs are active on Instagram as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

In is optional whether you want an AC or non-AC room. There are cupboards ,study table, single bed available. There is no single occupancy and the rooms have to be shared. If you are ill ,the staff will bring lunch to your room. The mess meals generally follow south Indian menu and is good. In mess you can also order foods of varieties like North Indian ,Italian , Chinese cuisines and so on. The menu is really good and accommodates a lot of dishes. The registration for hostel is done generally online on the portal. There is also pantry in hostel. The mess generally provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight meals. The hostel is a bit costly but is worth it. There is room sharing options there.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Kattankulathur Campus | BTech CSE

The reputation of SRM both online and by word from mouth was not reliable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and keep up with the evolving trends of industry. It balance Theoretical and knowledge and practical application, helping students build a strong foundation in core subjects like programming mathematics and engineering fundamentals. The curriculum Includ Laboratory session Projects and tutorials that enhance understanding beyond the textbooks It also allows students to choose elective in later semester which adds flexibility and depth to learn. In terms of revevance, most subjects are designed to align with current industry requirements especially in field like computer science and electronics the inclusion of emerging technologies such as ai data science and web development makes it quite comprehensive. However a few areas could be improved such as integrating more industry based project and updating some older Syllabus to match modern tools and frameworks. Overall the curriculum is relevant ,comprehensive and career-oriented providing a solid base for both higher studies and professional development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This criteria for choosing the college was because of placements. The curriculum Is outdated and not as per the industry requirements. In 1st year we are taught only one language and which is of no use.... That is C. But in other universities, students are taught languages like java, C++, python in their 1st year. Teachers are good. I have no issues with them but I have issues with its curriculum. Exam are taken so much which are according to me good as they prepare as for university exams but as I consider placement point of view so students do not have enough time to prepare for their placements, learning new skills as we are supposed to study for exams otherwise we will have to attend extra exams and classes and will lose internal marks. So having many exams have both benefits and drawbacks.
