Remarks

This is situated near the state capital unlike other colleges that are situated far from cities, so one can avail many ither facilities most importantly the CAT and GATE coaching. The placement is quite better thant other regional govt. Engineering colleges. The campus is large but not yet developed fully. The boys hostels could only accomodate half of those who apply for it. The faculty, teaching and laboratories are with par to other institutions. The college is autonomous.Yet it is not comparable to the NITs and IITs, which are far better than it.The admission is simple and all dates and processes can be found in the college website cet.edu.in.The in-campus placement places as much as 40% of all engineers which continues throughout the year with pacakages varying from as low as 4.5lpa to as high as 26lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses, academics and faculties are very good and well managed by the management. But the recruitment of contractual less experienced faculties do provide some difficulty to students in their study. The library is large and well maintained.Faculty: student ratio is 1:50

Internships Opportunities

3.5

My first internship was with HAL koraput, without any stipend but I was with 2 other students and we got to learn about how the jet engined work and maintained. My other internship was with a local printer manufacturer and we got to learn the basics and futuristic models of printers.

Placement Experience

3

Placement offers are made throughout out the 4th year i.e. 7th and 8th semester. The highest package last year was 2600000 lpa and avearge of 800000lpa.Almost 40% of all students get placed in in-campus placements. While you have options for off-campus placement that almost places 80% of all Students.

College Events

Seniors, faculties, everyone is friendly and no cases of ragging or harassing. We have 4 early fests and other mini-events going on throughout the year. The annual cultural fest Extacy and tech fest Perception along with annual sports meet and a education fest all managed and partially funded by students. The library is too good and well maintained with lot of books which van be borrowed. The reading room is large and best for casual study. Some classrooms have projectors. There are clubs for mechanical, electrical, computer science, drama, dance and song and a sports club which are all run by students. We have large cricket and football grounds and an indoor badminton court.A large sports complex and a special 3-storey library are being built with assistance by state govt.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is fully funded by the govt. So fees is much low at only 32000 per semester. There are regular scholarships offered by govt and non-government organisations by semester marks basis or other tests.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Room have 2 beds and 2 pairs of chair and table. Two lockable racks. Single plug point and lights and fans. The hostel can be applied during admission or readmission stage. The locality nearby has plenty of PG rooms available at affordable costs since the boys hostels can't accommodate all applicants. But staying in hostel inside campus is a different thing and you get to learn a lot.

Admission

The admission is based on the JEE MAIN entrance exam. And the question pattern is all known and available. The level of questions are quite easy but the competition is high adn you have to score avearge of more than 100 to get a decent course in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

those course curricullams at central university of odisha is thought fully designed ,offering a balanced blend of theoretical depth and practical relevance. on eof the key reason why students opt for such courses like int mathmatiss is the seamless academic progression and strong foundation it provides for research and comprdative exams. that curricullum could be more better as it can be more practical. what we are studing is like 80% theory and just 20% practical. so i do think that could be more better. the quality needs to be improved.

Placement Experience:

As Rourkela is a tier 3 city the placement opportunities are no as much as the tier 1 cities but the college still provides placements oppertunities with a decent amount of starting package of 4LPA.The college brings alot of companies for job and intership through it's long and good establishment in the city. The students becomes eligible for campus placement from 5th semester onwards as they have enough projects. Infosys, Capgemini,Dalmia, etc companies visited and highest package was 4.5 Lpa and average was 4lpa with 2 lpa as the lowest. Getting a MCA degree afterwards is most preferable for getting a better job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well organized by the authorities based on the latest medical aspect of our society. Practical classes and regular postings in hospital helps in better understanding. Being the only hospital in nearby cities, our hospital provides us a good exposure to varity of cases. Our Associate proff and HODs also look upto them and help us gain more real world experience. The best aspect of this field or if I have to say Why have I chose it is to serve the society. Absence of well qualified doc at the times of emergency is one of the leading causes of mortality in developing countried like India. Being in this profession, I just want to help people around me.
