Remarks

It's an average college however, regular classes are there. And many GHITM students have done very well in their career.

Entrance Preview

I took OJEE entrance exam and I got a rank of 669 in W quota. As that year another entrance exam has been conducted by the private engg. college association the no. of seats to be filled by OJEE became half. And I didn't get seat in the top 3 colleges of my choice. So instead of choosing any other average college, I chose GHITM which was near to my living place so that I can avoid extra cost of hostel n mess.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is as per Biju Pattanaik University of Technology(the state technical university of Odisha). It was strictly followed in our college. Like all classes and practical sessions were as per the curriculum. And yes, unlike many other colleges we used to have regular classes. However, the teaching style was not research oriented.

Internships Opportunities

No,our college didn't use to invite companies for internship. It was up to the student to take a summer internship on his/her own.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement and job opportunities provided by our college was not that good. There were companies which used to come for campus selection. However, most of them would offer a package ranging from 1.8 - 2.8 lakhs per anum. Most of the companies would be very small ones. And college didn't bother to check if the companies are legit or not.

College Events

2

Each year there used to be an annual cultural function. Many competitive events like cultural and technical too are organized during this. It's real fun. However, there is no fresher's party or farewell party. Only in hostel students arrange these parties. Students do participate in technical events or festivals in other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In our time the fee structure was quite feasible. Though I have no idea about the current fee structure. In our time it was around 35000 per year. In the first some additional 16000+Other was also there. However, I don't remember the exact figures. But it was somewhat near to what I mentioned.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is link up of our college with Punjab National Bank. So It was quiet easy for the students to avail loans through college from this bank with less interest rate.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was quite good. There were more male students than female students. However, it has nothing to do with college policy as the admission is as per rank in the entrance exam. There is no gender/religion/race biasing and there is no effect of politics. There used be sports meet every year.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I didn't avail the hostel facility as I was a localite. However, I have visited the hostel with my friends. I would say it was pretty good as per the rooms condition. Yes all the rooms were on sharing basis (2/3 ppl in one room). The food was really good in the hostel with a reasonable price. But I don't know about the hostel fees.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni network set by the college. There is no interaction between current students and alumni. However, there is good communication between seniors and juniors.

Exam Structure

We used to have three internal exams and one final semester exam for each semester. The internal mark contributes 30% and semester exam 70% to the total mark. There were regular viva for each lab session and a final grand viva for the lab at the end of each semester.

Faculty

3

There were many good faculties in were college who were really very good at teaching. However, the no. of such faculty members was very less. Most of the faculty were B.Tech pass-outs(At that time it was not mandatory to have M.Tech for lectureship).

They provide vast type of coriculom like - kabadi, football, cricket, nss, ncc etc. Who going to that field. That was best for that man applying that field. I i suggest for their improvement in faculty-student ratio. This university exams very tough. The Invigilateers are very stricts. They dont provide any comp on exams.
