Remarks
The college has all the basic amenities that students required. E.C. And located on the highway so commutation would not be a problem. I didn't get admission to a government college. And SVBIT was my next option. Considering all aspects of this college. Talking about the study here, I felt at home here. Every professor is always eager to help and support. Since I was from the Gujarati medium and didn't know much English, in my first year they motivated me to answer and help to develop English skills and ppt presentation skills. During school time I was an average student, but in graduation, I became more than the average student. While taking admission here, I didn't know much about particular facilities in our E.C.E department like whether they have all equipment related to study, but College has far more lab equipment. Studying here is more than study. The person will grow in each aspect of life, not just study.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I was interested in electronics I wanted to opt for EC and no confusion over it. Each class has around 60 students and around 12 facilities in department. All the facilities are well above qualified. And no question about the quality of teaching. The exam paper was set by GTU , University. Passing exam is not difficult.
Placement Experience
It is so disheartening to say there were no true placements were there in our college. however, the college has arranged a placement fair but there were not any technical jobs available. Only nontechnical jobs. we didn't get any help from the placement officer. we were on our own to get an internship, placement, and other support. But professors in our department gave enough leads and contacts so we got great internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
While I took admission here, I was told that my fees would be 54,000 but after 1st semester they hiked suddenly to 68,000 for a batch of 2014. Later it went to 75,000. For batch of 2018. Even in my class for 12+ student fees was 68,000 as fees hike in 2nd sem, but those who get admission in D2D in 3rd sem got huge discount and fees was mere 36,000 since no enough seats were filled. That's discriminatery half of students paying 68K and half paying 36K for the same education.
Campus Life
Especially in Feb and march, especially Tech fest and cultural fest are the biggest. Tech fest includes too much competition in every department. To open a club is so easy and professors are encouraging the student to open a club if the student has a good idea. I was part of two clubs. one for entrepreneurs- to guide those who want to file a patent, wish to become an entrepreneur and another one was Design Engineering - where students across the department discuss the idea regarding projects and real-life issues. the college has a library with more than sufficient books, we never had a shortage of books. And even if we required books that were not there, the college has ordered that book. We had limited resources for sports. only have basketball and volleyball ground and only these two games were played. The canteen and food were okay. but the biggest problem was the availability of the Internet. There was no WiFi and Internet in lab pc was with huge restriction
