Remarks
If you are looking for a graduation degree this is one of the cheapest college. If you want to have lot of exposure and core knowledge this college is a wrong choice. I myself Graduated in Aeronautical Engineering and now working as an Assistant manager in Syndicate Bank., out of 60 of my batch mates only one works in an aeronautical company that too in Megallen Aerospace.
Entrance Preview
There is no need of any Entrance examinations to get selected in this college., Only criteria is that you should have scored at least 60% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. There is also govt quota in which the selection criteria is mainly marks obtained in +2
Course Curriculum Overview
Aeronautical Engineering is one of the most attractive courses. In this college we have seven laboratories assigned to Aeronautical Engineering. They have a live Airplane there, Wind tunnel , Structure Checking Lab, Boeing Engine and much more. overall practical side this college is adequate
Internships Opportunities
There is not much stipend available here. The college does not provide internship., Students should find their own means of internship. College will support any proposal for internship as I din my final year project in National Aerospace Laboratory
Placement Experience
Here almost all companies comes for campus selection but the post to which selections are conducted were always below par. When I was in this college the highest salary offered was 24K, that too for a skilled candidate. If you want better opportunities you can always go to near by big colleges for campus selection since campus selection now a days are walk in
College Events
There are symposiums for all department yearly. People from various colleges attend this. There are a total of eight departments. Then there is College day in which various arts are performed , Sports day which is three day long, Then there are Hostel days, Dosa day and Christmas (Since this college comes under christian administration Christmas is always celebrated here)
Fee Structure And Facilities
In a year Tuition fees are Rs 70000 for students belong to management quota, But for Government Quota tuition fees are Rs 35000. Hostel + Mess fees are around Rs 27000. If you want A/c rooms you can pay Rs6000 extra a year. Then there are laboratory fees - Rs 4000, Library fees - Rs 6000, Stationary Rs 4000 (college will provide all the note books laboratory record books) , Uniform + sports wear - Rs 2500 . So a year it will cost you around Rs 1,30,000.
Fees and Financial Aid
I never took any educational loans, And there is no educational loan facility available in the college. If you want educational loan get it from a bank near to your locality. Most colleges in India does not have tie up with any credit giving agency or bank so I recommend you avail loan outside the College. (Even though I graduated in Aeronautical Engineering I am Working in Syndicate Bank as an Assistant Manager.
Campus Life
First of all this is not a college situated in Delhi or Mumbai, This is a college situated in a remote village in Tamil Nadu. Boys and Girls have equal opportunities but not equal freedom. Boys can go outing till 7.30 PM and Girls should be back by 6.30 PM. The action is justified since there has been lot of incidents in which girls finally ended up getting expelled from college because of misconduct In the college the ratio of boys to girls are 60:40 (In Aeronautical Engineering Dept Ratio of Boys to Girls are 80:20 ).
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very good. There are usually 4 people in a room. There is no attached bath room, one should use the common bath rooms. Hostel is in college premises only. The college is situated in 90 Acres so lot of space is there. Right outside the hostel there are huge grounds and those who wants to play sports or games can utilize the ground.
Alumni/Alumna
After graduation and collecting final year degree 90% of students will never comes back to this college, As I told you earlier this college is in a remote place. Here senior junior relationship is very good.
Exam Structure
The exam are easy but there are 8 to 10 subject which are very tough. But Labs were always easy and the staffs were really supportive. And in laboratory a candidate will score average 85% continuously. Since all the laboratories are big and has lot of space you will always find ways to entertain you
Faculty
Aeronautical Engineering is one of the toughest courses on planet, to make the course easier one college should have adequate faculty and skilled professors. Unfortunately this college does not have such faculty and those who are willing to do self study will find no problem since there is a wast collection of books in library
