Remarks
This college is affiliated with the JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur. I enrolled directly to the second year in computer science and engineering course of BTech in this college by clearing AP ECET exam with the rank of 276. The college infrastructure is good and clean. The college provides students with all the facilities they need such as a common library for all branches, good laboratories, workshops required to the students according to their courses. The college also understands the importance of cultural activities in a student's life. The college celebrates many fests and functions such as college day, independence day, farewell etc. They encourage students to participate in sports by conducting sports competitions every year. The college also conducts various events regarding general awareness programs such as anti raging, blood donating etc., Though the college overall management is good, the support from faculty to the students is really poor.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm studying BTech with the specialization in Computer Science and Engineering. Our curriculum is R15. The topics covered in each subject in the curriculum are very interesting and important as they teach professional knowledge that a student needs. But also the overall curriculum is making students feel overwhelmed with all the complex topics involved. The curriculum involves various technical subjects with topics that are too hard to understand in one semester that it makes students uncomfortable. The teaching faculty of the college is average. There are lecturers that have a lot of experience and puts their best efforts to teach their students, but there are also lecturers that have only a little knowledge and experience. Most of the lecturers are not permanent and are only temporary. The qualification of faculty is MTech and they have a minimum of 5-10 years of teaching experience. Though most of the faculty are friendly towards students some are not and doesn't encourage students.
Internships Opportunities
The college is tied with Internshala. But the college doesn't provide any internship opportunity for students. The students have to complete internships on their own, and any projects or tasks mentioned in the internship must be completed by the students on their own and the college is not involved in any step of the internship phase.
Placement Experience
The college has a placement cell but it still needs to be improved. Tech giants like TCS, Infosys visits the college. The student's placement ratio is 5:3. The staff of the placement cell put their best efforts to bring the best opportunities for students. The average salary package is around 3-4 LPA. Though the placements cell is lacking a little compared to other colleges now with the efforts of the staff it is likely to become the best in near future.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides fee reimbursement to eligible students whose parents are not working in any government sectors and income is less. I was eligible for this fee reimbursement, So I didn't have to pay a fee for the course. But I had to pay the university fee which was 7200 per year in which Admission fee is 2000, Caution Deposit is 1000, Special services is 625, Placement cell 125, University Common Services 1850, Miscellaneous fees 250 and another 1350 for an Identity card, Co-operative stores, Department Association etc., But for students whose parents are working in government sectors, the fee is around 16000 per year. The college provides all the facilities a student needs. So I think the cost of the course is fair and is worth it. There is no availability of jobs for students with stipend in the college. Since the college is located in a town finding a part time job outside the college was also not possible.
Campus Life
The college campus is always clean and green. The college understands that cultural activities play an important role in a student's life. The college celebrates various functions, fests such as college day, independence day, farewells etc. The college also conducts various events regarding general awareness programs such as anti raging, blood donating, rallies and encourages the students to engage themselves in such events. The college doesn't allow any raging and the staff are friendly. The college conducts sports competitions for students every year at the beginning of the academic year. The college also has NSS that encourages students to voluntarily participate in social events, competitions etc. Even though the management provides such wonderful opportunities to the students, the support from the staff is very poor.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is good and only 3 students are allowed to stay in a room. The students can bring laptops to the hostel and also the hostel provides free WiFi. The meal quality in the hostel is average. The menu is different every day and the same weekly menu is repeated every week. Only the students of the college can register for the hostel. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The registration fees are 4600 per year in which 1500 is Hostel Caution deposit, 1000 is an Admission fee, 1500 is Miscellaneous fee, and 600 is room rent(per year). Additionally, monthly mess fee should be paid which ranges from 2100-3000. The registration of the room must be done every year. Students also receive a scholarship from the government for staying in a hostel. There are also rooms to rent in Kalikiri town. But most students don't rent a room outside as it is not secure. There are no girls hostels in kalikiri town, but there are a few boys hostels in the town.
Interview Experience
As I said before I got admitted to the second year in CSE course by clearing the AP ECET exam with a rank of 276. There are two ways to join this college. One is for students who completed Inter with 45% or more and clearing AP EAMCET exam within the rank limits of their respective caste. The other one is for students who completed diploma a 3-year course and cleared AP ECET exam within the rank limits of their respective caste. To clear the AP ECET exam, I had to study all the subjects covered in the 3-year diploma program.
