Remarks

Quiet a famous college (autonomous institution) of Southeast India which is on its way to becoming University. RIMS could be compared with colleges like PMC (Patna medical college), Calcutta Medical College, Motilal Nehru medical college etc. Government ( central + state) investing a lot recently to modernize it and also increase its capacity from 180 to 250. Admission is accepted via NEET exam. — AIR cutoff 4500-5700., — State cutoff 12500., — Course duration = 4.5 + 1 year intern ship. Yearly fees (as of 2020) = 10,050 for general and 4,500 for women and other categories with hostel fees for 2yrs = 7,000. The stipend of interns is near around 17k. RIMS is the best college of jharkhand without any doubt as compared to other colleges (MGM/PMCH).

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Academics are good with regularly scheduled practicals as well as dissection. A great education system with one of the famous professors cum doctors. Most of the faculty members are form Medical background. Exams are as tough as other famous colleges.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship period is of 1yr for both MBBS/ B.Ds graduates. Students could attain basic skills during this period. Interns are paid around 20,000 monthly which is quite good as compared to other states.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is mediocre. More students prefer to carry out higher studies although they could also apply for state government jobs. MBBS is much more about gaining skills than having a job. Any general physician could easily earn 2-3 lakh per month after having 5-10 yrs of experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for General (boys) = 10,050 + 7,000 General (girls + other categories) = 4,500 + 7,000 MBBS interns are offered a stipend of 17,400. Medical PG is offered nearly 80,000. University toppers are rewarded with the scholarship of >20k.

Campus Life

4

RIMS Ranchi annual fest held in the month of nov_dec by the name of Palash. College is supported with inbuilt stadium and Cafeteria. Any inquiry/ Notification is published within RIMS official website.

Hostel Facilities

4

Single sitter occupancy is available for 1st-year students with well-equipped furniture and bed. No AC / heater is provided nor allowed. Each hostel has its own mesh run by college residential volunteers. Food quality is great.

MBBS is all about learning and exploring . Only choose this profession when you have a will to help others otherwise it would be a difficult course for you. The passing marks of examination is 50 and for that you need to study hard.

Mbbs is a long duration course of about 5.5 years in which there is 1 year of compulsory internship.being a doctor is the noble profession and gives you huge respect and that's why i choose this course, this was me and my parents dream as well.this curriculum prepares you to face upcoming challenges that you have to face as a doctor.i think practical work should be more instead of just bookish knowledge.there is 3 terminals in a regular interval of 3 months and then final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program is a highly sought-after degree that prepares students for a career in medicine. A key aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is its emphasis on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. The inclusion of subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology provides a strong foundation for understanding the human body and its functions. Furthermore, the clinical rotations and internships allow students to interact directly with patients, giving invaluable hands-on experience. The curriculum is well-structured to equip students for real-world medical practice and further academic pursuits. Clinical postings in hospitals and exposure to different medical specialties enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. The focus on research methodology also lays the groundwork for those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies or contributing to medical advancements. However, there are areas where the MBBS curriculum could improve. For instance, introducing more interactive teaching methods, such as case-based discussions and simulation labs, would better prepare students for complex clinical scenarios. Additionally, integrating modules on soft skills, such as communication and empathy, could enhance patient care. Exams are frequent, usually held at the end of each semester, with assessments ranging from theory papers to practical exams. While challenging, they are crucial for assessing a student’s knowledge and clinical aptitude. However, spreading out exams and providing more time for preparation could reduce stress and improve performance, ensuring a better learning experience overall. Cons are course length and also the difficulty level.
