Remarks

I would give a 6.8 to the overall experience of Amity areas of improvement are hostel facilities, freedom to PG students more visits to factories to educate students about on ground work.

Entrance Preview

I took the Aptitude Test organised by Amity Business School.I scored around 80% marks in it. I had heard a lot of good things about Amity and the placements in MBA. Hence, opted for Amity.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is extensive. But should include more subjects of advertising, OOH and Digital. All advertising in detail. The focus on making projects, presentations, reports and delivering them gives you a very good learning exposure and presentations and assignments every single day, make you more confident. Research is very well covered. There are multiple research projects that you do in 2 years of your course and it gives you practical knowledge and consumer insights which are beneficial in all fields.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, companies are invited to interview students for internship. 2 months of good internship gives you practical exposure. But students should be wise enough to choose the companies to apply for internship as few companies do not teach anything and instead use them for very petty issues.

Placement Experience

3

Placements were good till 2012 but, one thing which is bad at part of Amity is they focus on 100% placements and do not focus on genuineness of the companies and their worth. Many students of our batch were placed early in few start ups and they missed the last semester and in few months only, they either had to quit the job or were fired because of remuneration issues. few were fraud companies. cred check of companies is very important.

College Events

2.5

These festivals played a big role in grooming overall personalities of students. Every student was supposed to be a part of 1 or the other committee and be an active contributor. It is very important besides academic focus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive it is. in 2012, we paid around 8 lakhs for the 2 year course. since then, it has increased to around 11 lakhs its not feasible for many.. it should be revised as per Govt ruling and sponsorship should be given to good students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. Students of PG should be given more freedom compared to Graduation students as they are mature enough to decide when to go where but there are many restrictions for them too. Hostelers cant go out of the campus on weekdays even during day time. That's very sad. putting a time limit is ok but not letting students go out is too orthodox and sad. labs and gender ratio is good. people from all parts of india study here so it gives you a lot to learn from everyone and educates you to respect all individuals.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Mess food sucks. But there are lot of fast food joints like Subway, Dominos, Dosa Plaza, etc.. which give good food. But you cant really have these foods on a daily basis staying in North. Mess food is not nicely cooked. Had complained about it many times during our 2 years of stay in the hostel but no action was ever taken. Apart from that, hostel facilities are good. But they should allow students to keep INDUCTION COOKER as the mess closes at 9-10 pm and students study till late night and should have some means to cook maggie and stuff. Sometimes, the drinking water is full of dust and dirt.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very supportive and helpful it was very surprising we had nothing to worry as they were always there to support us be it anything they were very accessible amity is ragging free completely and seniors are very amiable and supportive.

Exam Structure

Yes, it was very hectic every day. But no complains as it made me who I am today 1st year is very rigorous. second year is still not that hectic, which is very good as students are given time for their projects and placements. Class tests and assignments are very very frequent. And exams come too early it feels as we were never free from taking tests and presentations.

Admission

After the test, there were PIs which I appeared for. Was selected in both and then there was paper work and submission of all mark sheets and certificates and fee. The fee was deposited through DD in favour of the institute. On the first day, all papers were checked and verified by the admin department. approval was given and rollnumbers and section was allotted.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very well qualified overall. And focus on mentoring the students by taking charge of a group of students and guiding them through out the course. All lecturers are Ph.D and expert in their field. The faculty is expected to devise innovative ways of teaching. The one thing which lacks is few of the faculty members are not very easily accessible sue to the work load and timing mismatch - as in when students are free from their classes, teachers are not available and when lecturers are available, students are busy with their classes. HimanI Sharma is too partial - teaches Strategy and management. Very arrogant.
