Remarks
I did not get a good enough rank in JEE Mains to be able to opt for a good government college. As no private college among the well known ones is exceptionally better than the others, I chose on the basis of campus placement, plus I also had a good enough rank to opt for the CSE stream that I wanted.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good second year onwards and some of the faculty members are really good at what they do. I have only just started the second year so I cannot give an honest review about industrial exposure.
Internships Opportunities
I am trying to develop my skills and so I have been part of various paid internships(I am the one paying) under LinuxWorld Informatics Private Ltd. to get exposure to industry-level knowledge.
Placement Experience
I haven't been part of any placement drives, being but a second year. From what I have heard, I can tell you that the university provides you assistance and works with you to the end of the line for getting on-campus placements. If you want better placements than mass recruiters, you obviously can't depend upon just the university for that. The university provides you an environment, support and a basis to develop your skills upon. You need to put in the efforts to develop those skills to be useful to companies if you want them to hire you. They won't take a risk and hire a low-skilled student just because he/she comes from XX University.
College Events
There are various events and extracurricular activities you can participate in no matter what field you are interested in. There are numerous societies that host such events for all students to participate in. While I won't recommend joining a society unless you are seriously interested in its activities, the events are mostly open to all and keep popping up all year round.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is one of the things that KIIT is known for. I came here after Fani had destroyed most of the greenery on the campus but the sight was still pleasing to the eyes. Functionally, too, the infrastructure doesn't lack much. We have numerous sports facilities, WiFi in all hostels and campuses and a marvelously constructed central library.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel has WiFi and the rooms are fairly well equipped with a bed, table, chair and cupboard for each roommate. You can opt for an AC or non AC room and you can choose to share it with 0 to 2 people, with prices varying accordingly. The mess food is bearable and has quality to pay for. Its never been watery or stale or anything of the sort as I have heard rumours about from other college messes, so you can trust them for providing you nourishing food even if you cannot agree with the taste or spices sometimes.
