My New Journey After Work

Only good things are their in the college but as we all know nothing is perfect. It just depends on students expectations and how much work he,she puts in to achieve it. The faculties have set different criteria to judge students. Normally the marks are given based on Attendance,Assignments,Quizzes and the end term Exam and project report. As i told earlier the classes schedule is hectic but you will get acquainted to it and will very well learn how to manage your time.

I applied for CAT and CMAT. For GIM i got through the CMAT Score but the CAT score also helped in getting admission in Interview. I also got through IMT and KJ Somaiya but I chose GIM above them. The admission process was simple like any other college has. I was called for the GD-PI round in Goa only. The GD was on the current affairs topic and the PI was just about the work i do expectations from MBA and why GIM.

There are 6 Semesters in total 3 in each year. The 1st year of Course is pretty tough and hectic. Apart from the attendance criteria,the assignments and other activities keep you on your topics. The 2nd year is all about choosing a Major and Minor specialization and working towards it. The 5th Semester goes very fast as the Placement season begins. Overall a good learning phase if someone wants to study and learn.

The internship which I had was in Coca-Cola. It was on a finance project on Taxation. I got it through outside but most of the people gets placed inside the campus only. The stipend offered varies too much but don't go for the stipend its a learning period, money will come automatically.

Placements have been improving every year. Also the number of companies are increasing and this year placements very finished soon and some companies had to return empty handed. The companies offers various kinds of roles and students can choose to apply according to their choice. As the college has very strict rules of mentioning the package so I can't tell you the figure, but rest assured its good according to a Tier-2 B-school. There are more than 15 clubs in GIM. We celebrated every festival and there were numerous opportunities provided to showcase your talent. I personally liked The sports club i.e Prayas as I am a sportsperson. Apart from that,there is Quizzes,Conferences,Guest Faculties and Speakers etc. These are all done by the students only. Management has no role in these.

The fees of GIM is on a higher side in compared to the peers. The overall expenses can go til 16-17 Lakhs for 2 years and it depends on the student also if he,she is a party person or not.

GIM is known for its scholarships people can get it easily if they have done it something unique in their life. Also the loan facillity is available as GIM has a tie-up with Cananra Bank and recently,SBI also joined the group.

Campus is very beautiful. It is situated on a hill so you can imagine the view. Extracurricular activities are numerous there is a Multipurpose Hall having Gymnasium, badminton,TT courts. Outside also there is a football Ground,tennis court and Swimming Pool. Apart from sports there are multiple competitions happening every now and then by different clubs.

For 1st year the hostel rooms are shared with the person of your choice. From the 2nd year you can get your independent rooms. There is a new hostel also if someone requires an attached bathroom with A/C. The hostel food is good enough and the students health committee makes sure the Hygiene and Quality is maintained. As Goa is known for ts Sea food so students eating Non-veg has more options. Also there is a Shop and juice center inside to meet the daily needs.

Seniors,Alumni are very helpful. There is a grand Alumni meet which happens every year in August in Goa only. So students can interact with seniors,alumni and can build their network easily.

The faculty is very experienced some of the finance and marketing faculties are IIM Alumni and has been teaching since very long. The visiting faculties also come in 2nd Year.
