Remarks

Great college with a huge campus and historical building.

Course Curriculum Overview

Lab experiments were in depth and with emphasis on practical aspects. The curriculum was in line with industry standards. No on campus placements were at that time but the syllabus was intense and exam modules were tough and based on thorough knowledge. Most modules were objective so lot of stress on presentation and expression.

Placement Experience

3

No placement at that time and no internships were there at that point in time in the college. But guest faculty visits and field trips were undertaken.

College Events

3.5

Science exhibitions were held annually and also teamed up with the top medical college to present new innovative start ups and exchange of ideas amongst the students and the faculty. Annual cultural programs included inter college quiz and debates apart from field visits to gather info about flora and fauna

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very reasonable at that time. No additional charges were paid upfront and the annual fees was all inclusive for the semesters. No fees was required to secure admission in the course which was plainly on merit and there was complete transparency.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan was availed as the fees was never too much and even scholarships were available for meritorious students.

Campus Life

All in all a reputed and great college with a mixed crowd of boys and girls mostly engaged in competitive exams. There were no clubs during the time but the college engaged in district and state level sports activities including badminton, hockey, cricket and kho kho

Hostel Facilities

No, I did not opt for any hostel facility but from friends it was known that the hostels were well kept and managed with good mess and facilities and close proximity to the college premises. The PG were cheap ranging from 2000-4000 per month

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the alumni are helpful and hold regular meets and help during the process of admissions. Senior students take to freshers easily and are great guides to make the juniors feel at ease during the initial period.

Admission

Merit, and purely merit. The admissions begin after results of state boards are out around June/ July and get completed by end of July and classes start within a week. The process is easy with admission forms available online and alumni sets up camps to help in the admission process

Faculty

4.5

The faculty was excellent consisting of all the best teachers and lecturers of the city who were also involved in training for the best competitive exams. The faculty always motivated for practical knowledge whether it was chemistry, zoology or botany.

The placements of the college are okay, since my placement drive started during the recession. Somewhere around 90 companies visited the campus. The highest package offered was 28lpa. The average package, based on my personal experience was around 4lpa. I would say more that 70% of the students received an offer. My plans after getting the degree was to get a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is a postgraduate course so I took admitted to this course because I want to become a lecturer (Professor). So after doing this I want to pursue a doctorate degree. Teacher student ratio in this course is 1:60 In this college, there are both permanent faculty and guest faculty. Permanent faculty has better teaching skills than the guest faculty because the majority of them are students who pursue doctorate degrees under the guidance of this college's Professors. They generally lack experience. The teaching method is excellent for permanent faculty. Exams are held timely. One is held in the month of December and the other in May. There are four semesters in this course. The paper level is difficult. One needs a descriptive knowledge of the subject to score good marks in examinations. Previous year papers can provide a lot of help.
