Remarks

The institutional environment is great for thus course. And the faculty are quite friendly and very helpful. I got a call from this college as my score was good enough for the college and I got into this college in merit seat. Good environment for a budding architect.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is great enough. Doesn't put much pressure on the kids. Faculties are very nice and they help a lot in academics as well as in our personal life. They are more like a mentor or friend rather than a teacher.

It all depends on your portfolio. We are supposed to search for jobs on our own. There is no placement facility available with this course.

College Events

Every year occasions such as kerala piravi, teachers day, onam, deepavali, holi, Christmas and many other festivals are celebrated. There is yearly fest "Bhoomika" and card expo conducted by students. Students eagerly participate in all the activities. There are clubs such as sports club, nature club, clean up kerala, magazine and photography clubs etc.

Campus Life

Wifi facilities available. Stationary shop also available inside campus. Sports such as cricket, badminton, volleyball and football are played. Library has good collection of books. Computer labs also available with latest softwares.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel for girls is inside the campus itself. One room is shared by three. Breathable rooms with clean bathroom(not attached), decent mess facility with vegetarian food, and space for washing clothes. The rental for one month is 6k including food.

Hostel Fee: INR 72000 per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Data Science is a rising field in computer science. It has lots of oppurtunities in todays world and easy compared to other fields, which made me choose data science. The curriculum consist of various computer programming languages including Python, R and so on which are vital in the field of data science. There are also experienced faculties for teaching of the programming languages. I personally felt that lab hours are not adequate and also the available hours are also not properly utitlised by some teachers. At the end of each semester we have exams and results are published soon as the exams are over, no lagging compared to other universitites.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
