Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of MD course in Psychiatry focuses on producing a post graduate clinician able to provide health care in the field of Psychiatry who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of psychiatric disorders (mental, emotional and addictive disorders).
Placement Experience
After the students gets done with the 3 year program, they can apply to public and private health care sectors in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Substance Abuse Therapy, Adult Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The annual fee for a general seat in this course is Rs.20,00,000. The additional fees are Admission Fee:Rs.10,000/- University Registration Fee:Rs.3, 500/- Eligibility Fee: Rs.1,500/- Caution deposit:Rs.25,000/- which makes a total of Rs.40,000 more.
Campus Life
College life is incomplete with extra curricular activities and therefore the college offers n number of them. The college hosted the World?s Largest CPR Training welcoming over 35,000 people. They conduct a sports day where the faculty plays against the students in different sports. There is also a gym for the students' physical fitness.
Hostel Facilities
The college has a hostel,as well as a service apartment, separately for the boys and the girls. The electricity bill is included but the caution deposit is to be paid separately. The hostel only have a single room occupancy with AC and attached bathroom for Rs.1,20,000/pa + caution deposit of Rs.10,000. The service apartment is single as well as twin sharing and ranges from 1.8L to 3L+15,000 as caution deposit.
Admission
Candidate should have passed MBBS with a minimum of 50% marks, with a certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council and have one year of internship experience, to be eligible for the MD seat. The candidate should also be qualified in NEET PG.
Faculty
The faculty helps the students to recognize the importance of Psychiatry in the context of the health needs of the community and teaches us to practice Psychiatry ethically and give us a sufficient understanding of the basic sciences relevant to Psychiatry.
