Remarks

The Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research is the premier institute for research in different varieties of oilseeds, production, production efficiency, and crop resistance. My experience was fruitful, the company and overall intellectual environment is stimulating.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was fairly flexible and just had some minimum requirements for lab work, article and book reviews, research writing, and seminars and workshops. Apart from them, we were left free to decide the way we wanted to proceed with the thesis.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is a placement cell but that works mostly for Post Graduate Diploma. As for me and most of the people of my network, we wanted to stay in the academic field, and received invitations as researchers from different institutes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There is an affordable fee structure for the other programs, the fellowship for PhD is given on the basis of time duration, seniority of the researchers, the government policy and the norms of the UGC.

Campus Life

The extracurricular activities revolve around the academics. There are different fully-functioning modern labs for different divisions, there are libraries that researchers have full access to and national and international seminars and field works.

Admission

There are regular vacancies under the faculty members for PhD students. I had applied through one of them and was called for a panel interview. The results were published and I was selected, I joined the institute after document verification.

Faculty

4.5

The institute has an excellent faculty, dedicated and diligent with a keen eye for problem solving. Much also depends on your course supervisor, but for interdisciplinary or holistic research, you can consult any of the faculty members.

Students become eligible for summer internship (after 3rd year) from start of 3rd year (5th sem) and for the placements, companies come to the college from 7th semester onwards. Companies like jo Morgan, Deloitte, Flipkart, goldman sachs , PepsiCo ,oracle, bny ,ubs , rippling etc come here for placements, some of them come for 2months and 6months internship too. Average package offered by them is 9-10 lpa , jpmc , Goldman, visa they offer till 12 lpa and it can go up for some of the companies . Most of the companies allow to sit for 6.5cgpa and above but some of them allows 7.5 and above cgpa and jpmc allows 8.5cgpa and plus as far I know till now . I am currently looking forward to work in a company and get a placement.

Reviewed on Mar 2, 2025(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is vast and allows a student to explore all the possible options to take before deciding on one . The field of elctronics and communication engineering allows one to deal with electronics and learn all the possible tinkering with them which is a very fascinating part as all the gadgets possible today were made of them. The curriculum does satisfy this thirst by teaching about them in the class of electronics and electricals and then experimenting in the lab with them . The areas for improvement could be that if a student is interested in a specific field then should be allowed to venture that field throughly instead of sitting in every class , but that is an imrovement for the indian education system as as whole . The classes of every subject does occur frequently and and exams take place every month in a form of quiz or proper pen based exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like computer science and I can see my future in this course. The current ratio in computer science courses is around 1:5. And we don't have technical communication teaching at present and the college is saying that they will recruit teachers as soon as possible. The student-teacher ratio in all the branches is around 1:3. All facilities are well qualified and teach well but they are not permanent and hence they may or may not be changed next year. There are two semesters in each year and an examination is conducted after each semester. The difficulty level of these exams ranges from moderate to difficult.
