My joureny with GIET College

The course covered the topics in order to gratify the need of changing technology. We were taught various computer languages like C++, Java, Phyton, R, C Programming and Data structure, computer logic and organization. The curriculum provided us in depth underrating of computer languages by performing practical in specialized labs. We attended regular trainings in high tech areas of computing thus providing a environment of deep learning.

The department has established a center for excellence that provides solutions to industry and research firms. The college has Training and Placement Cell that function all throughout the year towards training the students and getting them placed in the top industry firms. Some of the companies in which our seniors are placed include Infosys, Web Synergies, Ramco, JKM, TCS, Value Labs. The cell also organizes workshops on personality development, Microsoft training program and Skill training program.

The department regularly organizes workshops such as Phython workshop and R workshop. The Tech Fest known as AAHVAN is one of the most important event of the college. It is the blend of technology learning with fun. There are national conferences organized too in the college where the industry experts deliver lecture. It is an interactive conference with the students. The department also releases the annual magazine named ONMIS.

The annual course fee was INR 40,000. I found it reasonable as compared to other colleges. The college in general has a good fee structure. This fee included the tuition fee, computer fee, lab fee, examination fee and miscellaneous fee. We were instructed to pay the fee online in a single installment. So I paid the annual fee through net banking.

There are faculty quarters inside the campus. The cafeteria within the vicinity of the campus provides hygienic food to students in the campus. The place is a very famous hub among students and faculty. We have access to full-fledged gym with all the equipment which are accessible to the students. There are professional trainers in the gym. The library subscribes to over 400 national and international journals. It has an exclusive reading room and audio visual section. The department has LCD Projector class room and a MCA Lab with 60 computers.

The minimum eligibility criteria include 50% aggregate in Bachelor?s degree from a recognized university. I appeared in the Common Entrance Test (CET). It tested my logical and analytical, English and general knowledge. The exam was easy and I was sure to clear it. Within 3 days, first list was out. My name was there in the list. There was a call from the college to for my documents verification. All my mark sheets and identity proofs got verified and my provisional admission was done. I paid the fee online and thus confirmed my admission.

There were four faculty members doing Ph.D. Two of the faculty members were completing their M.Tech. All of them had sound knowledge of the subject they taught to us. They regularly scheduled labs where we receive sessions on computer languages and their applicability in the real life programming. Due to international collaboration, sometimes there were international faculties who were visiting faculty and gave us the real world exposure.
