Our college remains ahead of the curve with the objective of providing design and art education to the students and further maximize their individual potential to deal with the subject. The college is affiliated to Bengaluru Central University.Their programs offers the students with different levels of practice in the field of media art & sciences, law, environment, business & education, humanities etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
Duration of the course is three years divided into six semesters. The curriculum is industry & work based. The subjects include material construction & techniques, history of interior design, technical drawing, CAD, research methodology, 3-D visualizations, retail design & display, planning & decor, spaced layout & design etc. The main task for us is to make any establishment look beautiful and attractive and offer utility items.
Placement Experience
The top firms that came to visit the campus are Maps of India, The Grid, Synergy corporate interiors, The Karigars etc and offering a average package of 4 to 6 lpa according to the skills of the students. I am not sure of the internship packages that was offered. But overall the roles offered was sketching designer, craftsmen, sourcing product manager, cost inspector etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Tuition fees for one year is 60,000. Registration fees of 50,000 need to be deposited at the time of admission in the college. Other charges of 2,66,000 includes library fees, club membership fees, sports fees, caution deposit amount, maintenance charges etc. The total for one year come down to 3.76 L and the grand total amount for three years is 9.91 L. The fees structure is a little bit expensive for me.
Campus Life
Sports activities such as football, basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, volleyball etc are regularly held so that the students are mentally and physically fit. National and state festivals such as republic day, makarsakranti, Br ambedkar jayanti, gandhi jayanti, holi, diwali, Christmas day etc are celebrated in our college. The labs are well equipped and updated with the latest technology so that the students don't posses nay issues.
Admission
The students must complete the undergraduate technical program after taking into consideration the categories mentioned by the college for qualification. Other than that you need to clear a entrance test which is followed by portfolio review and a interview round.The age group as specified by the university for the program is between 18 to 35 years. You can apply in online mode and fill in the necessary details. Merit list will be uploaded on the college website based on your performance in entrance exam & interview. On the basis of which you will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers are helpful and supportive. Practical exposure about the industry and how the planning of the layout, furnishing, color schemes, decorations of the establishments needs to be done so that it fulfill the needs of their customers. We are taught about techniques such as how to the work in a given budget and the ability to manage and at the same time work as a team . Overall the teachers of our department always motivates us in learning more about interior designing so that we can we good interior designers in future.
