Course Curriculum Overview
The course main aim is to provide students in depth exposure in the understanding of the media, journalism and broadcasting agency.The duration of the course is three years divided into six semesters. The course deals with the scenario like business strategies, economic policies, advertising agencies, intellectual property rights etc. Subjects covered are communication theories, evolution of media, advertising & sales promotion, business strategy and policy, TV production and programming. In the last semester we also have to do a mandatory internship so that we get to know about the emerging trends such as advertisement, social media, print media and t.v.
Placement Experience
Top roles offered to students of my batch were editor, tv correspondent, event manager with the salary ranging from 6 to 10 lpa. The areas in which the students can get job are marketing sector, media sector, media production and PR agencies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees for first and second semesters is 3 L.The total for one is is around 4.8 L after including all the necessary charges.The grand total for three years is approx to 10 L.Security deposit of 50,000 is included in the fees against any damages. If I see the fee structure it is a little bit expensive. The expense mainly related to the media programs that are held in even semesters.
Campus Life
Cultural fests such as diwali, holi, bihu are organised by the student council. Sports activities such as football, table tennis, chess, kabaddi, volleyball etc so as to boost the morale of the students. Workshops on mass media, marketing management, advertising agencies are held at the college regularly to give students insights about the subject.
Admission
You need to pass class 12th from a recognized university. Other than that you need to clear general ability test and studio test. The subjects of GAT is English ability, media awareness, G.K and reasoning. 30% weight-age is given to this section.Next the students need to clear CAT which is set as per the course applied.The weight-age for this course is 20%.If you clear these two steps you need to clear essay writing and will be called for personal interview round. A merit list will be prepared on your marks and you will be granted admission.
Faculty
The faculty members are well experienced and kind to shower all the necessary knowledge to their students. They help the students in any way possible so that the students can get the overall understanding of the subject.Regular classes and guest lectures are held to give students real life examples.Overall all the teachers are highly experienced and guide students in every manner to achieve their goals.
