Remarks

I am happy to share my feedback on my college that is Gandhi Institute of excellent Technocrats. The main advantage of the college is that it is situated at a distance of 10km from the market. The environment of the college is so peaceful that it is very good for study purpose. The campus and placement of the college is so good and attracting and skillful also. The admission process is done through JEE main and a 10+2 basis and it is done by a merit list of the college. The admission process gets completed by the month of July . I preferred this college because of its environment and the administration department is so good and careful. They are very conscious about the students career. I shall always refer this college for any future students if I will be asked. The teachers of the college also describes the topics so clearly. If any difficulties arises then they also do the doubts to be cleared by all the faculties. I searched it from the websites after finding it on the top colleges list.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in automobile sector so I chose this course. The faculty members are so good and careful that they help in sorting out any problem that arises in the college. The faculty members are generally the Phd holder or the M.tech degree holders or M.A. They teaches us in a pictorial representation so that to make us understand. The basics were cleared so it was easy to pass the exams.

Course Fees: INR 4 per year

Placement Experience

From 7th semester we became eligible for placements. The companies such as Reliance jio, Wipro ,infosys, Tech mahindra etc company comes to our college for placements and we get unlimited offers for campus. The highest average package we get is 5lakh per annum. The Percentage of students gets placed is 80%.My plans after getting degree is to get in the defense academies

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the college is so simple. Everyone has to pay 69000/- as the course fee and 49000/- for hostel fees. In general we get the Prerana scholarship from state government

Campus Life

We have tech fest on Engineers day and Suravi as our annual day function. We have a cricket ground and also have a basket ball court and a volley ball court

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

A Decent Experience

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

My College Life.

Placement Experience:

Students after 5th semester are allowed to get pre placement training. And then from 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited to our college for recruitment are like TCS, Accenture,Zenus, Infosys etc Average package in my college is 8LPA and the highest package of this year is 25LPA. Almost 70 percent students get placement. My plan is to get a job as a Software Engineer in Google with a package of 30LPA.
