Course Curriculum Overview
The National Institute of Virology (NIV) is a premier virus research laboratory in India affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University. It was established under the aegis of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Government of India, with a primary mandate of studying viral diseases in India, on an integrated platform. Total 100 Multiple Choice Questions. All questions are compulsory. Each question carries 2 marks. Maximum marks = 200 Negative marking: deduction of 0.5 marks per wrong answer.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Admission
Candidates who have appeared for pre-professional/pre-medical exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and have appeared for 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or intermediate exam are also eligible. Candidates who have passed the first year of a 3-year degree course with subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology are also eligible Candidate must score at least 50% marks in the competitive exam. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the minimum percentage required is 40%.
Faculty
The total faculty numbers in National Institute of Virology is 37. The NIV is a dynamic organization having a state-of-the art research infrastructure including animal experimentation facilities, modern molecular virology-immunology platforms, advanced electron microscopy application base, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, vector biology expertise (from field studies to molecular genetics), BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories and a dedicated interdisciplinary faculty of more than 50 scientists. This provides a unique environment in India for both teaching and training of virology at par with international standards.
