My Journey with Vellalar College for Women

Vellalar College for Women is situated in Erode, Tamil Nadu, affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It has been re-accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC. It provides hostel facility, modern facilities, and many undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University, so the course curriculum is in accordance with the university rules and guidance. The curriculum encouraged us to research on topics for projects, and we used computer labs and libraries for the research. Exams were conducted 2 times a year. Along with final exams, internal tests and projects assessed our performance.

The companies that came to our campus year after year offered lucrative packages, the choice of working full time or part time. Prestigious companies came down like AB Academy, Accenta, Infosys, IDBI Federal.

The total fees of my course of post graduation came to around ?1,300 a year. This figure included tuition fees, registration fees, bank charges, the cost of admission forms. The fees structure is quite feasible, considering the good level of education.

There are certain clubs and societies that help students bond over something common: media club, Science club, National Cadet Corps(NCC), NSS, Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Extra-curricular activities help students enjoy and explore other things while studying, like fine arts.

After my 10+2 result was declared, I looked up the college website for the admission procedure. I was asked to submit the application for admission to the Principal of the college. A few weeks later, a post was sent declaring I was selected.

The faculty were very supportive towards us. They recognized our efforts and achievements and geared us up for improvements. They had the qualification required for our level of education. They always held their doors open in case we needed some help.
