Remarks

The institute was established in 1952 under tge joint auspices of ICMR and rockefeller foundation. It is also the national monitoring centre for influenza, japanese encephalitis, measles, hepatitis and coronavirus.

Course Curriculum Overview

Phd in virology of course duration 2 years is available. Having completed post graduation is a necessary eligibility. The academic schedule is very hectic and the exams are taken frequently. This course involves very deep research.

Placement Experience

This is the best research place for viruses in the country. The students easily get internships in the research field. There are job opportunities in the field of lecturership and research. They are also provided with good stipends.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The students have to pay a small fee to college for P.hd. in the course. They are also given sripend for researching by the government of India. Hostel and mess fee are feasible. Facilities provided at hostel are very good.

Campus Life

The institute gives sufficient freedom to the students for carrying their research work. The labs are one of the best in the country. The college is open for all. People from different caste, creed and religion take admission in this college.

Admission

I had got admission in this institute on the basis of merit list prepared based on post graduation scores. The admission process is smooth. One has to show academic certificates and marksheet to complete the admission process.

The faculty members are cooperative and helpful. They are very well qualified and experienced in this subject. Some of them have passed from this same institute. They help the students in seminars and to bag good internships.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are okay and mid. Don't expect higher packages like over 7 LPA; the highest was, I think, 6 LPA. Most are campus placements, and the companies coming in are mid-tier too. Not expecting much from here, though.

Good College

Remarks:

I am glad that I got a chance to share my ideas for IMRD, an institute which nurtured and molded me with great skills. This only made me capable enough to get into a company like WIPRO. I realized how lucky I am; to be a part of IMRD Shirpur, when I put my foot in the industry.
