Good college

The college is good with good faculties and academics.

I gave AIEEE exam in 2006. My state rank was 41 from Andaman and Nicobar Islands. I was interested in doing B.Tech in Information Technology from an NIT. I was getting NIT Patna, so I chose it.

The course curriculum was designed in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, so the course was of very good quality. It is of the standard maintained by a premier institute in India.

Unfortunately for all the batches during my tenure and also 2-3 years after that, no company came for internship, for any stream. We arranged for your internships on our own.

Technical Fest:It's named as CORONA. It is organised every year with lot of tech events with full of fun, learning and enjoyment. Fees were 6000 rupees per semester. A year had 2 semesters. The admission fees were 20000 rupees. It was was very less during that time, it has increased presently based on current economic situation. More details can be obtained from college's website nitp.ac.in

Unfortunately for all the batches during my tenure, no scholarship/loan facility was available for any student for any stream.

The campus life was awesome. People were very friendly. Every year we had technical and cultural fests. These events were attended by all students from our college and also by many students of other colleges.

Hostel facility was good, although the number of hostels were less, so many students had to stay outside making their own arrangements for accommodation. Fees were 4500 rupees per year.Mess food was of good quality and hygienic.

Seniors were very friendly and helpful and helped us up to whatever extent possible. I'm still in touch with many of them. They always guided me whenever I required their advise.

Exam structure is similar to other NITs and IITs. It was a bit hectic but very much manageable based on the quality of students the institute has. We usually has 5 exams within 7-8 days.

Few of the faculties were very good with exquisite knowledge on the topics they taught. The faculties for Mathematics, Digital Electronica, Database and Compiler were exquisite. While others were also good but not of the higher levels as expected.
