Remarks
Management was never good. Our director was a pretty educated man but the management did not listen to hostel issues. Also, there was a quantifiable discrimination between foreign and Indian students living in the same hostel, as 'they' paid more. Overall its an average college. Infrastructure and facilities have improved over time. There are many other good options if you get a chance. Never listen to college promises that they offer at the time of admission. Instead go by the word of mouth and reviews and you can't go wrong.
Entrance Preview
I didn't do well in other engineering exams so I opted for this college because its pretty close to my home at Delhi and I got a free seat.
Course Curriculum Overview
B. Tech (IT) Course curriculum is pretty good from UPTU. The 4 year engineering degree teaches you the basics of all the major fields of engineering in the first year going to the specific fields of IT in the later years. I found the level of math & algorithm design was also good, which if learned curiously and efficiently can help you later in programming fields. Although the course lacked the teaching of various programming languages like PHP, .NET(very popular at that time), etc, but basics were build using Java and SQL queries through practical lab sessions and project assignments.
Internships Opportunities
I did not do my internship by college referal. I did it by searching myself. Luckily I got the opportunity to do the internship at HCL Technologies, Noida.
Placement Experience
At my time, there were some efforts of placements being done by college but somehow only very few small companies showed interest and the rest were BPO's. I did not get placed through college because I was only average in my academics.
College Events
Not many. The annual function, and there were some seminars in the final year to prepare us for the corporate world, which did have a positive effect, however little it may have been. I remember that whenever, faculties from other college or outside India were there, the college was decorated good.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I got a free seat. At that time, the college fee structure had to comply with UPTU norms and I had to pay the college only 20k per semester. (I don't know the fees now). So it was pretty inexpensive. However, the students who opted for a paid seat during admissions, had to pay thrice or even more.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
There was no such facility as far as I am aware. Although some students were facilitated special training's in the college premises only. Like a few of the students were trying to make there own OS in the OS lab.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was as good as it is at any other college in the engineering stream. Campus life was not that happening at all. A couple of sports contests took place when I was there, although I didn't take part in any of those, as I never do. Lab setup was okay but lab assistants were no good. Neither they did look educated nor they behaved like one. No outside parties conducted by the college. Students are mostly from UP, Delhi, Uttaranchal. Some are from bihar, bengal and other eastern states too. There were a lot of foreign students, considering the fact that it is a not-so-well-known college, outside of the capital.
Hostel Facilities
One word: Pathetic. Many a times the college doesn't directly administer the hostel facilities and management, and its mostly is in the hands of the warden/hostel manager. We had a common hostel for foreigners and Indians but later on they separated that into two buildings. There is a separate girls hostel as well, which acc. to girls has the same annoyances.
Alumni/Alumna
Ragging was prominent at the time I joined. I never heard of any mishaps during my time there due to ragging. It was mild. I was never a part of my college's alumni network, so can't comment on that. Senior students were not of much help to me, some greedy ones even asked to do their assignments when we were freshers.
Exam Structure
Lot of mock exams were conducted, compelling that you prepare yourself good for the subjects. There was no cheating allowed. Some still happened here and there but overall the administration of exams was good. The finals (actual exams) were always conducted at a different college according to the UPTU rules. All the exams conducted during my course of time there had subjective type questions, including the mock exams. So you had to be prepared to write a lot, and sometimes the time of 3 hours is not enough.
Faculty
At my time, there were some good teachers but at the same time there were some novice faculties too. You cannot expect to have good faculties for every subject during the course. They allow to have extra classes for the subjects/faculty that interests you.
