Remarks

1) Good faculty, lab, and technical facilities. The infrastructure was great. Fees were fair. Importance of sports. Teaching was good. Ease of access transport from college to even the remote rural areas. The one negative that I can point out is there were no on-campus placements during the time I attended the college. 2) During my time, we had a single-window process to get enrolled. Apart from TANCET, the college had a separate entrance exam to get enrolled. 3) Since I was in a small town, Attur in Salem District, it was the nearest college with the best facilities. 4) Selected the college through word of mouth and counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

1. As I wanted to become a coder I chose the IT field, so I chose MCA. 2. We were 50 students in my batch and individual staff for each paper. 3. As the college was under AICTE, they followed the syllabus framed by Anna University. The faculties had very good knowledge of their subject and conducted the classes very professionally. To ensure our learning curve, students were asked to conduct weekly seminars. 4. We had semester based exams and 2 semesters/ year. All the question papers were framed and the answer sheets were evaluated by Anna University.

Placement Experience

3

The college didn't have on-campus placements during that time, but we had the opportunity to attend the campus interviews organized by Anna University. Through that, we had a chance to attend 14 companies which included TCS, CTS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, iGate, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

1) For my batch, it was Rs.12500/semester and it seemed the best fee when compared to other colleges (in management quota) at that time. They increased slightly for our juniors. 2) They gave importance to sports. Since I was a University level player in Ball Badminton, I was able to avail fees concession under sports quota. 3) We didn't have an on-campus facility at that time but we had the chance to attend campus interviews arranged by Anna University.

Campus Life

3

We conducted one tech fest during my second year(2006) at Zonal Level and the response was good. For MCA, though we didn't have textbooks, we had enough books in the library to refer to. The classrooms were normal. The college had conducted and participated in zonal level tournaments for several sporting events.

Interview Experience

4

We were the 2004 - 2007 batch, so we had to clear entrance exams to enroll in Engineering courses. Admission was based on cut-off marks (both Board exam marks and entrance exam marks). To get enrolled in the college, we should have either cleared TANCET or the entrance exam conducted by the college. Since we were the first batch to attend the TANCET, I prepared for aptitude and reasonings and went through the entrance exam.

Placement Experience:

For MCA , the internship season starts in the beginning of second year , many famous companies like Uber, GS, Visa ,KLA visit our college . The highest package in MCA placement is 52 LPA and median is 10 LPA. Many students get PPO from the summer internship. The placement percentage for the year 2024 is not that good , but NITT MCA holds a good record of top placements.

Remarks:

The infrastructure is good, but it would have been better if the intake in the college would have been less. VIT has decent laboratories and equipment. VIT rules, however, do not allow girls to stay after seven so they have to manage their work accordingly. Faculty : The faculty members are good. There could have been an improvement in the way that the courses have been designed and offered though. Many new courses are added to the curriculum as well to keep the students in touch with the recent trends in their respective branch. VIT, Chennai organizes two events like Vibrance and Techno-VIT. The campus is well-connected to airport and railway station too.
