Remarks

This was the best Pharmacy college in my city. Ranked 3rd in Karnataka after Manipal and JSS college. This college had the reputation and it rightly deserves it. The teaching faculty is top notch. All Professors and Lecturers show interest in student progress. Certain times, students based on their merit and performance in classes are approached by lecturers for Funded Projects, which is very helpful for a student to build his/her resume. Admission to the college is not based on your CET marks. All students regardless of their score have to pay the same amount of fees. The college I feel can encourage more Industrial visits, even for early year students. Extra curricular activities can also be encouraged. There are sufficient festivals celebrated in a grand manner. Holidays for students are very less though. Certain public holidays are not given. Labs are well equipped and serve the students with all needed tools to understand the subject practically. Campus is great.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This college had all necessary elements for overall development of a student. The Professors were smart and helped bring out the best in us. Assignments given encourage students to think out of the box. Students are assisted at all times. Faculty is sufficient for the number of students. But perhaps a class of 100 can be split into two classes of 50. Thankfully each Lab batch has only 33 students which allows the Professors to give personalized attention in the practical aspect of the study. The teaching faculty is well qualified and work in the best interest of the students. The teaching faculty uses Power Point Presentations for better learning alongside the blackboard. The PPTs used are later forwarded to students for reference purpose, which allows students to better concentrate and listen during classes. Each semester has two seasonal theory and one seasonal lab exam. Which is followed by one Final theory and one Final lab exam. Each year comprises of Two semesters. Easy to pass

Internships Opportunities

5

Its a requirement of the curriculum to do an internship of 150 hours stretched over a period of 30 days to be eligible for the final degree. The college helps you out , or you can apply for internships on your own and the college will officially request the Pharma company to do the needful. College particularly sends students to Bangalore, Goa and around Mangaluru. LUPIN, Strides, Cipla, Sanofi, etc, are companies the college gets in touch with for internships.

Placement Experience

3

Every year at least two companies come for campus placements. You need to be good to get selected for a fair offer. You can still with the help of Lecturers get yourself a job locally or go out for interviews as suggested by the Placement Officer of the college who takes keen interest in students future.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure could disappoint a few aspiring students. For my batch (2017) Rs.1,32,000 was charged in the first year followed by Rs.1,25,000 for the consecutive three years. Other fees include, Breakage fee and Exam fee which varies every semester, depending on the number of subjects and the need for Labs to understand the subject. Library Book Bank facility can be availed at a fee of Rs. 4000 for the entire duration of the course. Book Bank provides with almost all necessary Text books for the subjects being studied in that particular semester, which has to be returned back to the library after that academic year. Book bank fee of Rs.4000 is returned at the end of the course, claims the college. Government Scholarships like e-pass and other central scholarships can be applied for, through the college. Students can also apply for bus pass, though College bus facility is free. Yet, certain students require to travel longer distances, the routes of which the college buses dont cover

Campus Life

4.5

Campus is large and contains Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical, Mass Communication and Architecture college. It also has the Girls Hostel. Campus life is impressive and has a fairly good canteen. A small eatery is also available just outside the college for Lunch. An ATM is available just near the gate of the campus. Two stationary stores are present in the campus. Annual day, Onam, Diwali, Freshers Day, Sports day, etc are celebrated in a Grand manner. Cultural week and Literary week is done in Even semesters. Wide range of books available in library. Pharmacopoeias are available. Classrooms are big and well lit. Mic systems and Projectors are available. Sports is given high importance in Nitte. Nitte Football League is organised and students are encouraged to participate in interclass and inter college sports events every year. Any athlete will be more than happy about the encouragement given to sports in Nitte.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My father influenced me to choose b.pharm. This college does not have any smart classes. I think that is a need. But the exams are frequent every semester. Question papers are moderately hard but studying for 2-3 months for a semester can easily get you passed. As the college doesnot provide placements it may be hard after passing out
