Remarks

Highly unprofessional, untrained, rude, had no information at times, lazy, poor standards of teaching, poor infrastructure, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

My bachelors degree in commerce has been certainly helping me out with my recent job role. In some way I have been able to apply it practically all that I learned in school. However, the college teaching was merely to the level it should have been. Hardly had any meaningful lessons and students too. Most of the semester I have missed attending to the college & its lectures. Only did self study and appeared for the exams.

Placement Experience

0.5

My college did not provide any college placements or internships. Since was run by the state government did not had any such facilities.

College Events

0.5

Had several political events at large which mostly included student union political rallies and voting for the same. Apart form these there were some fresher meet where they would invite some local regional singers and celebrate. Did not took any participation while was in college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Talking about the fee structure it is very much feasible even to date. While in college I suppose my total fee for the course i.e. for all 6 semesters was around 9,000-10,000 rupees including the semester exam fee. However, had to purchase the course book from outside at extra cost.

Fees and Financial Aid

Did not had too as the college fee was very much feasible for me. I managed to pay my fee by myself as I was also working at the same time while studying at the college to support myself and my family financially.

Campus Life

1.5

Did not had experience of campus life as I hardly ever went to college not even to attend the lectures. Mostly people would show up for the exams only and would prepare for the same while taking tuition's outside the college campus area. Had no extracurricular activities in my course. Most of the student of my college were male/boys in ratios when compared to women/girls.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

No I did not opted for the hostel. Did not had any. Being a sate govt. run college it did not had the facility of hostel for students. Students from remote areas would rent P.G. paying guest nearby college and accommodate themselves accordingly.

Alumni/Alumna

Have not much information about it. Hardly heard of it when I was in college. The college administration neither mentioned it ever nor paid any heed to it. The number of student studying there are lacs. in number.

Admission

Being from a middle class family I couldn't afford a good private institute to pursue my graduation after finishing schooling since their annual fee structure was way expensive and would amount to our total annual income of the family. Hence, for me to study at a private institute was next to impossible. However, since my schooling day's I always dreamed of pursuing my further education in a good renowned college which some of my school friends did went to. I choose to purse my bachelor degree in commerce because of the subjects I choose in my intermediate school i.e. 11th & 12th as it was the best suit and pursued by many of school friends from the same background. It was not by matter of my own liking that I chose these subjects in my intermediate school but because I couldn't secure a certain percentage of marks criteria set for pursuing further schooling with science subjects as those were my subject with which I completed my High schooling. My reason for choosing my college was first it was a cheap government institute and had many college going student like me including some of my friends in school. Admission process for long compared to another institutes and a merit based selection process in several pre set number of new student seats. I was fortunate enough to have met the criteria and got the admission. The admission process was more of a chaos with the whole college campus filled uncountable number of student roaming around from one place to another with some kind of haste and the feeling of not knowing where to go asking people for their assistance. There were number of stalls set up by different student unions with their members helping those who are need in order to gain their favor by asking them in return to vote and make them win.

Faculty

In my personal opinion I think there should be a well coordinated and talent hunt kind of criteria that should be adopted by the most of government run colleges to choose their faculties who are not only hungry for the job merely just because it is an govt. job and provides you security but who are really hungry to shape the future of the prospect young leaders of the country by sharing their knowledge. I have nothing to say as I hardly ever attended any lectures taught in the college except only quite a few of them when I was in 1st semester. The knowledge and the curriculum should be based on the practical knowledge of life instead of all theoretical. Should include field studies for their relevant field of study.

Remarks:

The primary factor of chosing the institute was that it is a government college. Secondly, its location (presence of holy ganges near by makes the environment pious).Third being presence of good and safe environment. Facility of library and easy availability of all kind of books, journals, daily newspapers is one of the factors that can attract students. Time to time sports events take place engaging students towards extra curricular activities. And the most important factor affecting one's choice is wisdom, support and mentoring by the faculty and dean here.

Though college was not so much strict which was fun for us it needed to be i think colleges needs to be a bit strict in some of the matters as like exams and the students. Most of the students never attended classes even though they were marked excellent which was not good for the students who came to classes regularly and did hard work to get those excellent marks.
