Remarks

Good thing is that our college has helped many poor students with financial support through scholarships. It has also donated nearly 5 core to corona pandemic and 1 core to needy people who suffered from flood last year

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is according to the Syllabus formed by Pharmacy Council of India. Pharm.D is a 6 years long post graduation course. 5 years academics and 1 year internship. We are supposed to go to hospital from second year. Currently in our college only interns and fifth years are going. Actually our course mainly concerns with clinical pharmacy. Dealing with patients regarding proper medication usage. And Government of India through PCI has also recommended that a Pharm D graduate can work in both hospital as well as industries. We are getting proper training in our college but the only sad thing is that we don't have proper hospital to go with case analysis. As everyone knows college plays a very important role in building a student's career. Making better professional is the aim of every college. It's our duty to go with the flow and make use of all the curricular activities to become a best professional.

Placement Experience

2.5

Many pharma companies come for placements. They include Biocon, indigene, accenture, abbotte etc. Hospitals include Forte, Apollo for the post of clinical pharmacist. No special steps by the college. Students are interviewd. Through their knowledge, skills, hours of internships they are selected. Minimum of 700 hours and maximum of 1000 hours is recommended to get selected as a clinical pharmacist.

College Events

3.5

In our college we celebrate talents day. College day, Women's Day, teachers day, College day fest, ethnic day. Celebrations is highly enjoyable as all students participate. And also we celebrate so many awareness programs.like drug abuse. Menstrual irregularities, Helping needy etc which are a great step towards society

Fee Structure And Facilities

Total estimation for our course is 396000. We pay fee and examination fee through DD.Additional fee include examination fee, laboratories fee, textbooks, newspapers,Laboratory records fee etc. No transparency in fee breakdown. No donations received by our college. Sad thing is that we don't get stipend for internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't apply for any scholarships provided by our college because I get Epass. Scholarship eligibility criteria include distinction marks, annual income of family which should not increase one Lakh and financially poor students. Procedures include the student has to consult office staffs to get scholarship form. After filling, with necessary documents it should be submitted to the college office and they will analyse the students based on eligibility criteria. Selected students are further having interview with respective donors and then scholarships will be given during annual day celebration.

Campus Life

2

Campus life is extreme with best friends. No discrimination between boys and girls. We be like friends. No discrimination between race, religion. We live like family sharing thoughts, doing projects in groups, seminars, exhibitions. Equal participation in extra curricular activities. In our college we celebrate talents day. College day, Women's Day, teachers day, College day fest, ethnic day. Celebrations is highly enjoyable as all students participate. And also we celebrate so many awareness programs.like drug abuse. Menstrual irregularities, Helping needy etc which are a great step towards society. Labs are good with essential reagents, equipments. There's inter department and inter college competitions of throwball, volleyball, badminton, football, chess, carrom etc. Often we enjoy campus

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I didn't opt for college hostel. Currently I'm staying as Paying Guest nearby hostel. It is a six shared room with attached bathroom. Food is given by pg 3 times daily. Monthly rent is 6000 with 7000 as deposit. Facilities include hot water in the morning time, three times food, tea in the evening, cleanliness, disciplined.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are highly useful as they give information regarding the scope of field, current affairs, current industrial scope etc. They also help us by providing old textbooks, notes sports materials. Give proper guidelines about better career. Take the initiative in selecting good career opportunities. Also through their experiences make our path more feasible, batting the hurdles of misguidance. Provide financial support to needy backgrounds.

Admission

I'm interested to do research in research and development. So I opted for this course. I got seat through Govt quota. PES is among top 10 pharmacy institutions of Karnataka. Hence listed top during option entry. Our college is having all pharmacy courses. Option entry through CET was during June and July. My admission took on 24th July 2017. Academic year was started from August

Faculty

4.5

Our college is filled with best Director, Dean, Principal, HODs, Assistant professors, staff members, non teaching faculties, library faculties. Senior most faculties are much more experienced. Total of 7-8 departments. Each department is having 3-4 lecturers of 25-55 years of age. They are the Mpharm and Phd scholars. Some are gold medalists in their academic year. Coming to the subjects, proper guidelines have been given. Offline classes, presentations, demos, laboratories, experiments, data, cases have been efficiently taken. Many lectures have their experiences in industry. They have worked as clinical data analysts, pharmaceutical analysis, microbiological department etc. Having better knowledge of course and industrial things

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen Doctor Of Pharmacy, and it is a medicine based profession. We learn to deal with patients and counsel them with regards to their health. From 2nd year onwards we are assigned hospital visits which improves are communication skills, confidence, knowledge and much more. Students should really get stipend during internships which helps a lot of students not only financially but also it motivates them to work harder. Also they should teach and prepare us for competitive exams which will boost our career. We write 3 sessional exams, each of 30 marks which are internal marks, and a final exam of 70 marks, in both theory and practical. The exam difficulty depends on how well the students study.
